Where's everyone staying in L.A. (Micallef show?), by brainthedog on Sept 6, 2007 18:48:35 GMT 1, I just found out about the Roosevelt, but I'm a Marriott Platinum member so am staying at the Renaissance on Hollywood. But, am considering heading to the Roosevelt. Any other locations?

Where's everyone staying in L.A. (Micallef show?), by Matt-lock on Sept 6, 2007 19:56:14 GMT 1, There's not really anywhere else I would stay in Hollywood other than those 2. If you want to go into West Hollywood then trr out Chateau Marmont or Sunset Marquis...both of those are great hotels.

it's at the beach in sant monica so from hollywood it would take roughly 45 minutes...more or slightly less depending on traffic. I actually live in santa monica and work in hollywood so I do that trip every day...and yes, it blows. But it is a nice hotel...

thanks Matt, that's been my experience as well. I head to L.A. about once a month for business and think the Renaissance is pretty central to most places.

If you don't mind a bit longer of a drive from the Beverly Hills area, there's also Maison 140 and the Avalon [http://www.avalonbeverlyhills.com/], which are a bit more affordable than Sunset Marquis and Chateau Marmont.

Where's everyone staying in L.A. (Micallef show?), by ®at on Sept 6, 2007 23:18:55 GMT 1, Its strange.. I fly business or first class the majority of the time....but I HATE spending lots of money on hotels more than anything.... As long as it is not a dump, filthy, noisy or unsafe for me or the rental car then I am not too fussy TBH. Not one to sit around pools doing nothing personally.
Will have a look tomorrow - most likely a Hilton or maybe Starwood as I have gold level status with both of them so upgrade tastic.
Roosevelt was full when I checked a few weeks back.

Where's everyone staying in L.A. (Micallef show?), by tomjedimaster on Sept 6, 2007 23:43:01 GMT 1, I'm down in Costa Mesa from the 25th for work and plan on staying where the show is at for Friday and Saturday night. I hope to find a place, or I'll have to sleep outside the Viper room.
I was hoping to see a Kings or Ducks pre season game. Both teams are playing each other two days in a row at the O2 arena in London. What the hell is that all about?

Where's everyone staying in L.A. (Micallef show?), by jtk on Sept 6, 2007 23:46:39 GMT 1, There's the Hyatt on Sunset, which is only about 2 miles from the Roosevelt. Probably the least expensive of the hotels mentioned so far.

I know the kings are playing the ducks on the 19th there in a pre season bash. Not going simply because I have decent tickets for one of the games in London on the 30th!

Where's everyone staying in L.A. (Micallef show?), by Ågent ßacardi on Sept 7, 2007 11:38:10 GMT 1, The Roosevelt is a great hotel, but one that's a great value for money is the Beverly Terrace. It's located in Beverly Hills (walking distance from me!), and not exactly in Hollywood, but it's a great location IMO. And it's not really expensive, compared to the hotels in the area... and it's not exactly the Ritz Carlton, but it's a really decent hotel with free internet access in each room (I know that's important these days!), and well... with it being in Beverly Hills, you can't really go wrong! It's very near the infamous Sunset Strip, with all its clubs and bars and stuff, and it's also near the also infamous Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. I don't know where the Micallef show is as of yet, but if it's anywhere near the Roosevelt hotel, it's only about a 15-minute taxi ride to that Hollywood/Highland area.

Where's everyone staying in L.A. (Micallef show?), by fedjarojnik on Sept 7, 2007 13:51:04 GMT 1, i am thinking of having room 232 from the london ritz shipped first class to la, in my learjet, having it rebuilt on santa monica beach, and then buying the whole show before it even opens. and then forgetting the reason for coming all this way was to buy a print or two and gambling them all away in las vegas in a cocaine and silicone frenzy, they will make nice casino decor anyway
basically fear and loathing in la with antony micallef and snoop.
and getting an upgrade in starbucks due to having ordered 54 moccacina lattes for my staff of humble servants
sorry had to get that off my chest
