Original Antony Micallef Self Portrait @ Woodbine, by douknowawhiskysnob on Sept 14, 2007 11:17:10 GMT 1, *** Apologies if this has been posted already (I did a search and couldn't see anything) ***
Those with some serious money in the bank may be interested in an original Micallef self portrait head original that is available for sale at Woodbine Contemporary Arts (and those that don't have ยฃ15k burning a hole in their pocket may be interested just to take a look) - full details and link below.
NOTE: I am not affiliated with the gallery, anybody that works there or anybody to do do with this sale - just thought that there is a lot of interest in Micallef at the moment due to his upcoming LA exhibition, so people may be interested to see this....

Original Antony Micallef Self Portrait @ Woodbine, by BK83 on Sept 14, 2007 20:26:31 GMT 1, I didnt say they would be that quality! But come on now. You can get a small picasso for like US$4K-6K. Picasso's body of work is so vast but even so, his immense popularity will help to have his work retain it's value. To dish out 15K for a small Micallef right now in his career I would think is a poor investment... Surely you must agree. of course, if you were buying it with the intent to sell it right after his show in September then that may be a wise investment, but long term, who knows how is prices will be -- there's a lot that is still unknown -- there is a strong urban art movement at the moment, which Micallef (whether or not he should be -- because he is clearly an exceptionally talented artist) is a part of, and who knows when people will lose interest in this pop culture art moment.

agreed...personally i don't think many things in life are worth 15k. But i guess that's relative.
