Framing a Micallef Triptych, by collector on Oct 16, 2007 1:01:33 GMT 1, Was having a look at the new stuff on Anthony's website and saw this image ( www.antonymicallef.com/pic/93f.jpg ) which made me think. Would it be possible to get these 3 prints framed up together, the frame and glass should be OK but would you get a mount that big? Your looking at a frame of about 220cm by 110cm at least.
Certainly would be a statement but would it be better than 3 individual frames hung together?

Framing a Micallef Triptych, by Matt-lock on Oct 16, 2007 1:16:49 GMT 1, I tried the other day with my framer to do this with my set of AMP Kwans and it didn't work out. It's the same thing you said. The glass and frame was not a problem but they cut the matting from one large piece and my 3 Kwans were just over what it needed to be so those 3 Micallefs def would not have worked. It might be possible somewhere...just not my framer.

Framing a Micallef Triptych, by Imoy-San on Oct 16, 2007 10:02:03 GMT 1, How about Friendly Fire, Judgement Day and GIWTBB.
That would make an interesting frame job.
I can't wait for Collateral Damage as a print.

Framing a Micallef Triptych, by collector on Oct 16, 2007 13:43:45 GMT 1, Just spoke with my framers and they said the largest mount you can buy is (approx.) 112 x 163cm. They do offer other options like creating the mount out of MDF and then spraying it, this is not acid free but they can add a conservation material to the back of the MDF so only acid free materials would touch the prints. They are going to come back with other possible solutions tomorrow.

Framing a Micallef Triptych, by Aza on Oct 17, 2007 11:34:45 GMT 1, I had some pieces framed which were larger than the largest mountboard. They simply put two together.....if you look closely you can see a join, but you cant see it without scrutinising!
