Buying art from forum members, by chrisps303 on Jan 14, 2010 13:25:37 GMT 1, A list of who to avoid might also be useful...especially with all pseudonyms. In that case i would certainly avoid dealing with Fatherxmas, aka Distinctive Vision, aka bubble and squeak, aka Paul, aka Alfie I previously sold him my burger king and all went ok. when i put my mates coloured trolleys up for sale last week he tried to play me off against ronhill and once he found out i sold it for a better price to leephill (thanks for the easy transaction ;D) got very personnal and abusive. This guy is no more than a very jealous, naieve pathetic little boy. He boasted to me about him and 4 friends having 40k to buy art so they are going to set up a gallery in soho later this year. He is an ugly, vile little individual who drives a little ford ka with racing stripes and i urge anyone who is approached by email or otherwise by him to stay well clear. i feel annoyed that i ever did a deal with this guy in the first place, and the fact that he called everyone on here c**ts last night show the lack of respect he has for anyone he will do business with. The really sad thing is that he keeps coming back here even though he's been banned numerous times as this is what his future business 'venture' depends on. i have done numerous deals with many forum members and can provide many references and unfortunately this is the only one to go sour. Stay away from him!
To true, people get banned for having an opinion yet people like xmas/aarab with multiple accounts talking prices down and just acting like a wide boy (imo) continue to be allowed to post.
Utter madness.

Buying art from forum members, by Nico on Jan 14, 2010 14:06:07 GMT 1, In that case i would certainly avoid dealing with Fatherxmas, aka Distinctive Vision, aka bubble and squeak, aka Paul, aka Alfie. I can second that. Distincitve Vision aka Paul (aka Johnnyboy1971 on Ebay)... is a total freakozoid! I bought a Dface CliChe from him, he never sent it, and when I questionned it, he called me all sorts of names, saying he was too busy... He's seriously to be avoided! I luckily used Ebay and got a full refund. He then theatened me not to leave negative feedback which of course I did! ;D He also got charged the fee for the transaction which i was chuffed with. Because he used all this abusive language, I reported him to ebay who said they took action. AVOID THE GIT!

Buying art from forum members, by grafik on Jan 14, 2010 15:37:55 GMT 1, if im buying and its in london i usually go and meet up with them. and if im selling i like to also meet up with them.
i drove to oxford the other day to drop a print off that someone had brought off me.
but yeh its trust, i think if there was a sticky at the top which you could just post a little note to say that a transaction went well etc.. if you want to buy something off someone you can just do a search of that thread for their name? dont have to include prices or even the name of the print. just that it went ok and how you did it.

yup, well done, i wouldn't usually wish it on anyone but i hope this gallery idea of his fails. he's not the sort of person i would ever hope to see again never mind do business with or give him my money.
