Bloomsbury Auctions ๐ฌ๐ง, by pkt75 on Oct 12, 2007 19:31:22 GMT 1, Seems that the auction houses are the place to buy, even the baggers could still make a profit. Im stunned at some of those prices. Its quite sad tho that the market value of art is based on wot they go for on Ebay these days. This jus shows that this really shouldnt be the case. IMO

Bloomsbury Auctions ๐ฌ๐ง, by corisma on Oct 12, 2007 19:53:33 GMT 1, Yeah that's what i'd have thought Nu-art .. probably a few gone unsold . I think you'd need the right kind of bidders in on the day at the big auction houses which obviously wasn't the case with a few cheap Banksy's there .. these kind of buyers are probably much more interested in originals than prints there's also a hefty premium on top of those prices though

lets face it, at the moment the people at these auctions want originals, not prints!!

That logic is trotted out more than "I know what I like"... sadly it only works if you get a large % of potential buyers and fans to see the work...somethign bloomsbury obviously didn't do.. I'd say ebay prices are a far better representation of where things are at than auction houses and swanky galleries.

Agree /again/. Plus I think it was a really bad timing with all that's going on in London this month.

Sorry, wasn't aware it was ebay. Terrible timing for them though hey, a packed week of art fairs, major auctions and shows.. and they stick up a few lame bits and unsigned prints. I'd be rightly pissed if I placed anything with them, terrible timing and weak list. Nothing really to get any punters excited.
