New BAST on it's way....!?, by speebe on Nov 4, 2007 0:18:13 GMT 1, I went on a wander round town today... on the look out for the new swoons, faireys, sickboy, sweetooth etc today and then headed off to see how things were shaping up at Leonard Street.... As I trotted past Willow Street I could see someone working outside the POW HQ, so i went for a closer look and had the good fortune to meet BAST hard at work on some new pieces.

Bast was gratious enough to take time out to have a brief chat about his work and show me what he was up to. He was a very personable guy, who was clearly taking advantage of the unusually balmy November weather, working outside to enable him to spread out and be far more creative and experimental than he had been peviously with his prior POW editions... Saying himself that they were 'a little flat' and he was obviously addressing that.

I decided against taking photos as I thought that would be a little out of order considering the stage his work was at.

Needless to say the new pieces he was working on were really strong, with far more depth and more layered than the pieces he currently has on POW... I don't want to give too much away but the new work used a familiar iconic character made up from lots of smaller icons and images. There was a lot going on, with each piece I could see being full of hand worked detail and embellished to death.

Needless to say I was really impressed... I was torn as to whether I should post this information or not as I'd rather not create too much hype in advance, seeing as though it was a work in progress and not the finished article... I hope you appreciates how I've tried to be considerate, and appreciate why i'm being a little cagey with the details.

One thing I think I can say with complete assurance is that these won't hang around once they go up on POW though. Can't wait and I hope I'm lucky enough to get a piece of his new work.
