Mau Mau and the Munney print, by fartofthestate on Jan 14, 2008 2:24:49 GMT 1, Must admit that print isn’t my favourite of his. I have allot of respect for him and love his work. He has been around for a long time reminds me of the earlier days when graffiti was more associated with hiphop and when uk hiphop was at its peek. Hes done allot of work in the 90’s for uk artist like Rodny p, His graffiti work is of the original graffiti style and fit’s the galleries well which is not always the same for allot of original style type writers. Mode 2 two is of similar mould and does his thing well If you look at bulk body of his work there are no similarities with Banksy and they are very pleasing on the eye. but you don't think the mau mau and the banksy winnie the pooh pieces are similiar...not saying the bulk of his work resembles banksys, but you gotta admit...
Yes they are quite simmilar but I'm not too sure which came first, graffiti is a very small world with alot of these artists working with and around each other. MauMau goes back a very long way.

Mau Mau and the Munney print, by top on Jan 14, 2008 14:57:32 GMT 1, in an earlier thread someone mentioned(i cant remember who or which thread)that mau mau had done a piece where some huntsmen were hunting trolleys. i think it was thought that this was done well before the banksy image. anyone know more
Yes slammer..I saw it too, was hoping a pic might turn up to silence the criticism of Mau Mau !!
..would it affect the cost of Banksy's Trolley's i wonder?
;D ;D ;D

Mau Mau and the Munney print, by holden on Jan 15, 2008 12:14:05 GMT 1, I like it too Can see the overlap with Banksy's image, but it still works for me. Anyone got Ronald for a reasonable price, it was sitting there for a while and went as I decided to buy....typical!!

Mau Mau and the Munney print, by leumasdarnley on Jan 15, 2008 14:02:52 GMT 1, IMO Mau Mau seems to be at this point a street only artist with amazing raw street tallent looking at his murals I am blown away.
But also that rawness doesn't seem to be easily captured in print form to this point. Wackdonald was a well done piece but like a few people have said its not tame enough for most walls. His next release from SOS will be as close as I have seen but for some reason still seems like its missing something. I think him and Beejoir are going to come up with some crazy shit here in the next few years I def have my eyes and them. His website has quite a few maasive murals cool stuff.

Mau Mau and the Munney print, by 8x32kid on Jan 16, 2008 13:43:22 GMT 1, Mau Mau is completly raw in my opinion. The absolute 'Nitty Gritty' of street art. Out there for years. Puttin it up all the time. Total inovator....leading the style (Look @ his shopping trolley pieces...way before our Mr Banks. ) Mau Mau is the shining star for '08 in my opinion,. Freehand leads the way :-)
