Josh Keyes - drawings query, by Young Squire on Jan 17, 2008 11:00:28 GMT 1, I know there has been a lot of talk about Josh's prints and acrylic pieces recently but has anybody seen any of his original drawings in the flesh.
I am interested to know what the quality of his drawings are like and what people's opinions are on how they will stand the test of time (ie will they fade)?
DO people know how much these sell for (did when you could get them!)

he will probably read this at some point, tho not til later as i think he is in Canada(?) he is an avid fan of Keyes work and is in possession of an original piece..

I hope this helps,
The drawings are created on 2 ply bristol board plate / smooth finish.
I use Faber Castell poychromos pencils, they are light fast and will not fade.
Some of the more recent drawings are done entirely with W&N gouache, so i guess they could fall into the category of painting.
Important:
I do not spray a fixative on any of the drawings, as I have yet to find a fixative that retains the color of the work accurately, therefor it is crucial that the drawings not be exposed to water or high humidity, in other words, wear a sweatband around your head when handling the work.
Recently, I have restricted the production of drawings as they began to take as much time to produce as my paintings.
Prices,
The early work started at $150.00 for the 9"x12" and $400.00 for the 18"x24"
If I do decide to create a few new drawings, the prices will be higher than these prices but not unreasonably high.
