Thanks again to everyone that supported our fundraising efforts in 2009 and hopefully we will reach our goal in 2010.
On the night of our fundraising auction we had some fantastic artists who painted live on the night. Each artist painted a board measuring a huge 8' x 4' feet.
Due to their size they would ideally suit being displayed in the shop, club or pub although I know there are a few of you out there that live in mansions! ;D
We are looking for sensible offers for these. I fully understand and know that people like solid prices for pieces they are trying to sell but due to the size of these we are unsure of their market value. I guess that ultimately they may end up on eBay. We just wanted to offer them to the forum first.
Due to the nature and size of these pieces then I'm afraid it is pick up only. Each one will be provided with provenance signed by the artist.

Gary I think your wording on the sizes is apt.
Manty they are on 10-12mm MDF which had two coats of primer before painting and have been stored in a dry warehouse since.

We have been debating their possible worth for a while. It's incredibly difficult to put a price on them purely down to the fact that whilst most people would love them, realistically they would be incredibly large pieces to have in the living room!!
I guess the starting point that we decided on was if you were to be looking a 1 m x 1 m canvas from a number of these artists then you would be starting at about the 1K mark. At the end of the day if we could raise anywhere near 5K from selling all of these boards then that would be an absolute dream.
Not exactly a concise answer but the best one we can come up with at the moment.
If anyone has any thoughts regarding price and that will be good although it would be good if this didn't just turn into a thread of people throwing prices in the air. Also if anyone has any friends with extremely large apartments/houses or bar, club and shop owners that we would be grateful if you could make them aware. ;D

I agree totally that pricing is a really tricky one because of the size. I know I was surprised at the time for what some of the boards went for from the docks thing a couple of years ago, unfortunately cannot find prices to see why I was surprised!!!
I suspect a few people have prices in their head they would pay for their favourite board but probably would not want to put it on the table in fear of being way of the mark. I suspect the ebay route is the only way to get people throwing their hats in. Dreweatts have an urban art auction in April that could be another route especially if the nice people waived their sellers fees.

Some of those boards went for relative pennies. Shocking. And then most of the fuggers let everything down by either not showing to collect, or bleating that the pieces were too large. From what I was told I'd be cautious about putting these gems on the bay.

Mike in all honesty we didn't set deadlines as we didn't expect such interest. Some people have asked for 1st refusal and if they make us an offer considered to be good all round then that will be accepted.
Due to interest we will now set a deadline of 12 noon on Fri 29th of Jan otherwise they will hit ebay.
I hope this works for everyone. Apologies if not but as stated we have been overwhelmed with interest.

Amazed no offers on some of the other boards. With the number of open plan apartments in Bristol I though there would be people queuing to brighten their walls up with a bit of graf
