Josh Keyes - the final word (for now)..., by paulypaul on Mar 14, 2008 23:27:06 GMT 1, This was posted on the JK forum. Not only is Josh a superb artist, he works with superb people....
Hey everyone, We wanted to share a few quick thoughts and updates. Since there are multiple threads regarding this release, I figured I'd start a new one in order to ensure that this doesn't get overlooked by anyone. First off, we all appreciate your genuine interest in Josh Keyes. This sale required a healthy dose of patience and determination, and we apologize for the challenge that everyone had to go through. It was not an easy process by any means. A lot of preparation and strategy went into setting everything up to sell this edition. Regardless, it’s difficult for a system to handle literally thousands of people logging onto the site to attempt to buy the print. We had well over a half million hits registered that day, which is quite a bit of traffic for any server to process. Most of us involved with the gallery are veterans of these online sales, along with the frustrations that seem to be commonplace. I used to wonder why a number of artists would experience this same pattern time and again- without adequate resolution. Well, after countless hours researching this situation (before and after) from the other side of the table, I have a much better understanding as to the significance and impact that this level of demand carries. It makes it all quite challenging for passionate collectors to acquire the work and it’s hard not to get emotional in the process. It also makes it that much more rewarding if and when it works out. As many of you know, our Colorado Rockies baseball team made it into the World Series last year. The day these tickets went on sale, their server experienced a similar crash and thousands of people were left waiting online in the cold- in addition to ‘hitting F5’ and dialing feverishly on the phone. Sometimes it’s just difficult for the internet to digest the demand. In regards to future releases, we’ve got a few ideas sketched out as to how we might be able to make this process less stressful and fair. It’s also nice to read through the suggestions being shared up top… and all input is embraced and taken into consideration. Please also note that since Tuesday, we have been receiving hundreds of emails daily. That being said, it is taking some time to reply to everyone personally. If you’ve inquired about something and haven’t heard back from us yet, it is because we’ve got a lot of work on our plate right now in terms of people to reply to. Thank you for your continued patience with this as well. Once again, we’d like to express our gratitude for the positive enthusiasm that has generally been displayed by everyone. It’s been a pleasure getting to know a lot of you inside and outside of this community. We look forward to the future, as well as seeing what’s to come from such a unique and talented artist like Josh. Best, Dave Smith
If you were queueing in a piss stinking alleyway waiting for a print to be released these guys would bring you coffee and cakes...and a foot spa...

Josh Keyes - the final word (for now)..., by spenie1975 on Mar 15, 2008 0:13:28 GMT 1, Glad I got one but was bloody hard work, nice size for framing as well shouldn't be that expensive. Missed out on the Obey release but got a better Obey in the image.
