Faile paste ups????, by tricorn on May 20, 2008 11:49:13 GMT 1, Not even sure if thats what they are called. I was searching through an old art folder under my bed when I found an old Faile red dog print that was given away with each Faile from NY. Are these called paste ups?? I noticed someone was selling one for ยฃ399 on ebay framed, surely they aren't worth that are they. One last thing, has anyone ever had one framed I'ld like to see what they look like, the one on abay was framed a bit weird.
Cheers

Faile paste ups????, by jusdeep on May 20, 2008 12:01:13 GMT 1, I have seen them go for a lot more than that on Ebay. If my memory serves the last few went between ยฃ200-300 unframed.

I would pay ยฃ150 for each of them so have to disagree with you and i'm sure others would pay more.
Best to put them on ebay if you do sell & let the market decide.

Faile paste ups????, by tricorn on May 20, 2008 12:12:19 GMT 1, dont want to sell it to be honest, i'd like to see what it looks like framed. The quality of the paper has always put me off framing it before

Faile paste ups????, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on May 20, 2008 15:17:08 GMT 1, don't confuse these paste ups with FAILE prints on butchers paper, two entirely different things......
the paste ups were used as packing (tissue paper if you like) in the tube when NYC prints were being sent out. otherwise they would have gone up on the street.
they are screenprints though, obviously on very thin stock......

That sounds like what I have, here's a picture:
Do you think it will be possible to frame this? as someone said the paper is pretty thin

Faile paste ups????, by AxB on May 20, 2008 17:50:27 GMT 1, i think your all talking about the same posters but saying different things
i was told by faile that these prints 'were never intended for sale and they are usually printed on regular butcher paper which wears down really easy and gets discolored in even a few months.'
so thats their line on them.
x

thats right, all are street paste ups that weren't sold, which is what tricorn kid has.... a very nice freebie!
not to sure about framing though- obviously UV would be a necessity!

Faile paste ups????, by iwouldfollow youanywhere on May 20, 2008 19:10:43 GMT 1, someone may have a pic of the larger Faile on butcher paper that was sold- i can remember a faile dog made up of black bars with red advertising in the background....
99% sure it wasn't a key foods piece..
