that is beautifully framed? So does misterframeman do the artistic additions himself? or does he work with the artist?

grafter - splash - misterframeman, by raiden on Dec 7, 2008 11:24:47 GMT 1, I don't mean to talk for misterframeman, but he does the additions himself. He's quite accomplished and creative in his own right.
I must say, this one is awesome. There are several pieces that I wanted only after I saw the misterframeman job! His TMA frame jobs and lit Paul Insects are also incredible. I actually may send pieces from LA to him to get framed... which would be insane but I'm that impressed with the pictures I've seen.

grafter - splash - misterframeman, by Standard on Dec 7, 2008 11:52:02 GMT 1, Here is Edcase's, which is amazing and equally delicious in a black frame.
I have to admit as soon as I seen what Mrframeman had done with this then I went searching for the piece. It's a real jaw dropper and the detail/texture on the splash is amazing.
It seems to have stirred some further interest from others and I know a few more have sent them off to MFM.
Perhaps we could do with a 'post your framed grafters' in the framing section Silky?

grafter - splash - misterframeman, by craigf on Dec 7, 2008 18:06:42 GMT 1, they look the dogs, someone also has a Walker Vandal Airways somewhere on here that similarly has paint splashes on the frame and makes the print really come alive

I agree, it works on this print to an extent, but I think on the Vandal Airways it looks dreadful (and that's no disrespect to Gary it just doesn't work with that print).
With this one it works to a greater or lesser extent

grafter - splash - misterframeman, by seidbereit on Dec 7, 2008 19:36:21 GMT 1, Both of those look great, but I particularly like the white-framed one at the top! Top notch, IMO!
I liked the vandal airways ones from a few months back but the effect certainly looks so much better with the random splash pattern in the print.
In the meantime, I've grown to actually quite like splattered perspex box PUD used for his Ratatouille (sp?) canvas, for exactly the same reason (although not quite as much as this one, if I'm honest. Which I am)
;D

Maybe the VA ones were Mr Frameman's first tentative steps into frame artistry though...(I've not followed his career that closely, to be honest). Credit where it's due, it added something then (VA), but only a little; it definitely works well with this print. I bet he went to no little trouble getting the red paint bang on.. he's come a long way since those first inaugural attempts, IMO
