WTB: Shepard Fairey canvas, by Grubster on Jan 28, 2010 14:57:41 GMT 1, some new pieces coming up in his NYC show in MAy... never before seen canvases starting at 35K... supposudly all his new stuff, since being rep by Deitch, is going to be done on canvas and will be more of a fine art show with ONLY med - large canvases and no HPM on wood or other various stuff he use to do.. all new images of people that influenced him throughout his life and mostly portraits. from what i hear

WTB: Shepard Fairey canvas, by gebeau31 on Jan 28, 2010 23:36:49 GMT 1, cool, thanks! I am hoping for a shot at something from the Deitch show, but there will only be about 20 pieces in the show, and I know they are going to make an effort to place pieces with museums and high profile collections, so...not holding my breath. I would love an opportunity to pick up something before then if possible...if not, I will hope for the best.
35k sounds high for the smaller canvases...hopefully prices won't be quite that high (though I guess we will just have to wait and see).

well that what the prices start at and there are no small pieces, just medium and large canvases... from my understanding.....and just to be clear that is 35K US

WTB: Shepard Fairey canvas, by gebeau31 on Jan 30, 2010 20:35:13 GMT 1, so are you saying there won't be any 30" x 44" canvases...? This is what I am referring to as "small". And I was told 30k - 35k.

WTB: Shepard Fairey canvas, by Harveyn on Jan 30, 2010 21:54:26 GMT 1,
The print was created mainly by Ernesto Yerena with a little help from Shep. I am presuming the stencil is a collaboration also. Stencils this size would sell at $12k+.

WTB: Shepard Fairey canvas, by gebeau31 on Jan 31, 2010 1:34:16 GMT 1, I used to have one of those pieces. It is created entirely by Ernesto Yerena, and was signed by him. Shepard had absolutely nothing to do with the production of that piece, and it is incredibly misleading to attribute the piece to Shepard with no mention of Ernesto.
How does Artnet work? Is the seller solely responsible for the listing?

WTB: Shepard Fairey canvas, by snausages on Jan 31, 2010 3:59:19 GMT 1, So 30x40 canvases will be 35k usd? Wow. I may be wrong here, but based on past experience at Deitch and the increase in prices, I really think you'll have a chance at getting one of them if you got the money. Fairey does have Deitch in his corner now so good for him but I still think he'll be met with some skepticism from many big collectors and museums, and they always have first dibs at every gallery, so I really don't think there will be a mad rush by them to buy out the show now. And the subject matter of his show, portraits of his inspirations, sounds boring conceptually speaking and after seeing the weak portrait prints he's released recently, snooze... But as it will be the final show at Deitch I'm sure the press will make a small spectacle of the events - so that may help him...

WTB: Shepard Fairey canvas, by Grubster on Jan 31, 2010 8:13:32 GMT 1, yea the price jump is pretty significant considering a little over a year ago i could have purchased a 30 x 44 canvas for around 15-20k. I also have to say that I see it being pretty difficult to get any work from this show w/ museums and big time collectors having 1st dibs. (not that i would want any of sheps portrait work, it is my least fav of his work) But im sure the show will be HYPED to the fullest!
and yea..30 x 44 is what i considered medium, so you are right!
