Wow, someone didn't hang around consigning that. Is that estimate a bit on the low side?

Low? but it's just a poster, it's not a fine art print. I'd be happy if I won it but really I don't need an 'Hours' band poster on my wall even if signed by DH

Agreed, I didn't realise the quality of these prints was so poor - I now don't feel as gutted to miss out I also agree it would be more attractive (not much though!) if it didn't have 'The Hours' splashed across the bottom

hirst competition winners., by thegreatarchitect on Jun 6, 2009 12:03:29 GMT 1, I have never understood the obsession some people have with this geezer. Although he claims his art is a serious discussion on death and decay, For me he has never been anything other than an able entrepreneur who know how to manipulate and milk the market and has an uncanny ability to comment on social obsessions. Almost like the left overs of a Victorian freak sideshow his work for me has all the flavor of and expensive executive toy, and although this geezer is probably the biggest name in art today any comparison with great artists such as Picasso are just silly. i predict that when he has finished ''delivering the goods'' and manipulating the media his work will amount to little more than a fashion accessory very much like the tricolor of the French revolution
Some say he will auto destruct eventually
