Tube Strike, by bullet on Jun 8, 2009 22:37:31 GMT 1, where do they picket because ive never seen them picket at tube stations on a strike, which is where they should be so i can throw stones at them.
its not an excuse for a day off work, if they are on strike they should explain themselves.

take out the over inflated wanker banker wages and tosser trader wages and you'll get the real average cornelius and conclude they're doing well especially when you include holidays etc

Just wanted to put the boys inflammatory post into a context of wages/living costs, I think they're doing O.K. and undoubtedly a bit better than many other manual workers.
I'd better bow out now though as I see another one of the intellectually gifted children has joined in and I don't think I've the intellect to counter arguments like this..........

Tube Strike, by G-Man on Jun 9, 2009 12:38:15 GMT 1, Me too!. G-Man, take paint balloons incase Bozzer wont see sense.
I wish I had wiz
Boris just gets more and more eccentric, i have never heard so many mixed metaphors and political posturing as I heard this morning
There are lots of people only looking out for themselves unfortunately in London, combine this with a hugely over manned structure with so many overlapping interests and very little money to go to anything other than paying their wages that it seems the most simple things are turned into far too complex issues
I think that we can expect the tube drivers to get their payments and it wont be the last time we see this in the run up to the Olympics
I think that paint balloons and non violent anarchy is the only answer I'm afraid?

You my friend read the Evening Standard dont you lol
Pay deal in question could result in a pay cut over the next few years. Nothing in there about shorter working hours. You cant moan about people having pay freezes and redundancies, if you could avoid it, wouldn't you? Only day off all year is Xmas and even that is deducted from the A/L allowance. Same holiday as any other civil servant. Does seem silly to try and get two sacked drivers reinstated after they proved they were incompetent oh well...

Tube Strike, by retardthebear on Jun 9, 2009 21:18:53 GMT 1, I dont think people take into consideration that the driver is responsible for the health and safety of the hundreds of people they carry at a time. Not to mention having to be capable of a certain degree of know how to fix trains etc should they brake down in a tunnel. The pay is high, probably even more than what is deserved but I dont think its a case of only having the same role as a rollercoaster opperator.
Also its better to resolve things now before the Olympics get started. Heaven knows with this country in charge it'll be a royal f^ck up anyway.

I was told today that in Italy the Army are trained to drive the trains in case of strike action. They are trained in all public utilities and able to take over in strikes.
If it is true - good on 'em.

Tube Strike, by Prescription Art on Jun 10, 2009 10:49:55 GMT 1, Was just listening to Bob Crow on radio 5, and now am completely baffled about why they're on strike. Apparently it's not about pay, and that issue has been 'parked' (meaning they have an excuse for a pay strike in a month or two).

Tube Strike, by thegreatarchitect on Jun 11, 2009 15:38:36 GMT 1, For F.Sake. 2 days strikes. They get paid enough already, you don't see mcdonalds staff striking so what makes them so special. The tube is hot, it stinks, the trains are old, its dirty and the most expensive public transport in the world idiots, absolute idiots.
I agree with you, i,ve been greatly inconvenienced by this strike ,but lets not forget that everyone has the right to withdraw their labour if they so wish. If it wasn't for those people that have stood up for our rights in the past conditions today would be little better than in the days of 1381 and the slave trade would still be making a healthy profit

This is the basic background of most recruits. My previous remarks simply stated the governments view on soldiering not mine But lets face it, anyone who goes fight an illegal war under some misguided romantic notion that gives them validation because the government says so when it pins a bit of metal to their tit for good behavior cant be to bright can they. How many times does someone have to stick their head in the oven before realizing its best to think for yourself and not let someone else do it for you Remember in times of war a hero In times of peace a psychopath
