Banksy • No Ball Games GREY, by veralynn on Dec 13, 2009 19:57:17 GMT 1, POW should just sell the prints and make COAs availible in five years time after sale to the original purchaser only like this idea alot denzil, flippers are only in it for a short term gain,if the print could not demand such a high value without the coa then flippers would not be interested in waiting x number of years for their return. this would ensure only people that wanted to hang the print would buy it
Yeah, I'd second that in principle, it would certainly make someone stop and think......interesting idea that I can't recall being floated before....

Banksy • No Ball Games GREY, by willywonka on Dec 13, 2009 20:01:58 GMT 1, Sorry if I offended as it was not my intention. I am just not interested in discussing monetary value or how if affects things. Dear Mr Willy It would take a little more than a crass sentence used in order to avoid points made, to offend me my friend. You state how you are not interested in discussing monetary value or how it effects things, I present evidence A to the jury: This is probably one of the most important things. If these people hadn't started queueing and caused all the hype and panic on here everyone would have been able to stroll down on Saturday morning to get one. This forum is it's own worst enemy really. You moan about the flippers but then provide them with the information they need. Is this not discussing how monetary value effects things? If so, according to you it "is probably one of the most improtant things" to be addressed. These are your words which I responded to, making the sole point that hype did not come from two desperate men in tents. Your response was and has been to not acknowledge the point raised. Willy by name... Yours sincerely CHIPPY!!
Thanks Chippy. My initial post had nothing to do with monetary value. I'm not quite sure how you worked that one out. I was talking about how people wouldn't have had to queue up over night if people hadn't camped out and paniced on this forum.
Anyway you sound like you love a good argument and I believe nothing I say will be right therefore I agree with you and I am just a Willy.

A secondary market would still develop for prints without coa's (albeit at a lower price perhaps). The major problem I see would be the opportunity this provided to those making fakes. I think there would be a flood of them.
The again, in the long term, the flood of fakes might stop people buying due to it being too risky and take away the market for works less than 5 years old (due to the lack of coa). So it could well end up have the desired effect...
But there would still be shit loads of fakes around.

I don't think that there would actually be a parallel market for 'yet to be assigned coa' stuff as don't think that buyers would touch it with a bargepole.

Dear Mr Willy
All I have done was consistently state ONE point that the Banksy print hype was not created by two desperate men in tents as stated in your initial post. You ambiguous response was greeted with me asking whether or not you agreed with my obvious statement that “the monetary gain involved in acquiring a Banksy print creates the said hype and all that entails is inevitable?” you never answered and instead your Responses have been to avoid this simple and obvious point, by use of crude language and denial.
I do not love an argument especially when it is against someone who dodges questions, for reasons I can only assume to be; not admitting the fact that his initial statement has been proved grossly inaccurate and therefore to save face has decided to deny or not understand the very points being raised or... maybe just maybe... you feel the same way about me...
This long and winding game of tennis between us never needed be, but since it started I have been feeling overwhelmed, my heart aches, my knees tremble after each post. I find myself growing closer to you as each minute passes. Bob Marley wrote is this love, I am not sure as I don’t have dreadlocks? It’s all very confusing.
Yours truly

OK Chip Diddy Chip I will try to answer all your questions. It will be my opinion though and therefore may differ to yours.
The Banksy Hype was not created by 2 men in tents correct. Although those were not my words. I believe the 2 men in tents and the reaction from this forum created the hype around the grey NBG release.
“the monetary gain involved in acquiring a Banksy print creates the said hype and all that entails is inevitable?” Yes monetary gain does create hype.
I dont think my "initial statement has been proved grossly inaccurate" because we seemed to be making different points. If I have missed any questions feel free to PM me and I will try to answer to the best of my ability.
I do hope our romance will continue as I'm sure everyone is on the edge of their seats waiting with baited breath for the next installment.

Yours truly CHIPPY!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not that anyone cares one bit: The Long and Winding Road... A Love Affair Between two kindred spirits. Mr WillyThis is probably one of the most important things. If these people hadn't started queueing and caused all the hype and panic on here everyone would have been able to stroll down on Saturday morning to get one. This forum is it's own worst enemy really. You moan about the flippers but then provide them with the information they need. CHIPPY!!Dear Mr Willy Do you seriously believe that the Hype was started by two desperate men in tents? Yours Sincerely CHIPPY!! MR WillyDear CHIPPY!! Of course not. It was in reaction to people moaning about flippers for 12 pages. They can either do something about it to help themselves or stop moaning. Willy. CHIPPY!!Dear Mr Willy Do you acknowledge that the monetary gain involved in acquiring a Banksy print creates the said hype and all that entails is inevitable? Yours sincerely CHIPPY!! Mr WillyDear CHIPPY!! I couldn't really give a f**k to be honest. Regards, Willy. CHIPPY!!Dear Mr Willy Charming. Yours sincerely CHIPPY!! Mr WillyDear CHIPPY!! Sorry if I offended as it was not my intention. I am just not interested in discussing monetary value or how if affects things. If you would like to talk about the art that is cool. Tell us what you like and what you have on your walls. Best Wishes, Willy. CHIPPY!!Dear Mr Willy It would take a little more than a crass sentence used in order to avoid points made, to offend me my friend. You state how you are not interested in discussing monetary value or how it effects things, I present evidence A to the jury: Today at 3:05pm, willywonka wrote: This is probably one of the most important things. If so, according to you it "is probably one of the most improtant things" to be addressed. These are your words which I responded to, making the sole point that hype did not come from two desperate men in tents. Your response was and has been to not acknowledge the point raised. Willy by name... Yours sincerely CHIPPY!! Mr WillyThanks Chippy. :-*LOVE THE END OK Chip Diddy Chip I will try to answer all your questions.
