Banksy • No Ball Games GREY, by twist65 on Dec 17, 2009 15:49:16 GMT 1, the early Banksy prints are total classics and I'm sure Mr Eine fully played his part, a very talented guy although I would like to see more variety in his own work! I have to say though I think it's a good thing that Banksy's style is evolving and you can see clear development in his style both on the street and with his prints etc. I love the style of No Ball Games and although I think it's his weakest print for ages message-wise, having seen better photos of the prints I would be more than happy with one. For me the prints look 1000% better than the canvases...

£1k would be a very good buy. I had one of the larger edition, beautifully framed by Gary, but gave it to an (ex) girlfriend Would along with a lot of forum members love a LV Child Canvas

I looked at ebay after the grey was released and they were selling around £1400 now £2000, figure that out

It's all bollocks... don't trust ebay sales data for a minute.
The sellers shill listings... to generate / maintain hype... hoping that some poor sod will come along, look at what other prints have apparently sold for and make a stupid buy now offer... same can be said for those watching listings... getting excited and bidding more than they should.
Just because something has sold on eBay doesn't necessarily mean it's been paid for... so be careful you don't use that as the 'going rate'.
Equally... don't assume sellers are indivuduals, selling in isolation of one another.
People have multpile accounts and work in syndicates... to push up prices.
This isn't a £2k print... it will be selling for less than £1500 after Christmas.

Banksy • No Ball Games GREY, by eyectopus on Dec 18, 2009 13:06:34 GMT 1, I thought the price would go up a bit after people knew they weren't getting a Green in the lotto, but not by the amount they "appear" to have gone up by. Defo not a £2000 print. I want to buy a green after Christmas so will be interested to see what price they go for.

... that bus shelter was the only place to be by complete coincidence I ended up driving past POW this morning in the snow - not even a constant supply of hand or foot warmers would have done the trick last night!

I think this happens alot. I am always suspious when I see "relisted due to time waster". I suspect that many of these are being shilled and not sold. Then relisted.

When should eBay be trusted? or shouldn't it full stop?
I'm just wondering because when someone on here tries to buy a piece the seller nine times out of ten mentions the last sale on ebay and provides a link to the listing. The line used is "i can't sell it for that the last one on ebay sold for..."
It also makes me think about the last Nola that sold at auction for £1,800... straight away on here it was jumped on that the print was "damaged" and many provided links to the previous eBay sales?
It would be nice to get some consistency on this matter as without doubt it'll come up again...probably in the wanted/for sale section ;D

That happens allot on pieces that used to sell for silly money in 2008 and sellers are "trying" to get the same sales in 2009

Its interesting how much the values of signed Banksy's vary if you forget about how old they are. How popular the image is or the size of the signed run doesn't seem to come into it for some reason

I can't be bothered to hang around and bid last minute on them so each one that comes up I bid around 1450... one day I'm going to wake up and in a freak result find I have won 5 of them. I must remember to not bid on more than one with an end date on new years eve night or christmas day.

Banksy • No Ball Games GREY, by Zippy on Dec 20, 2009 23:05:13 GMT 1, well Mookie you are not far off. 1700 on the bay = 1462 after ebay commission and paypal fees. I was very close to agreeing one for my Micallef Head + cash on top but someone clicked the buy now button so he had to sell it to them!
Now, where the hell are the Green one's? Come on - who got one and are they sent yet / arrived?

Banksy • No Ball Games GREY, by mookie on Dec 20, 2009 23:14:35 GMT 1, I'm finding this whole green nbg rather odd. Very few people here won the lotto (unlike donuts - although there are less green) and every winner has held back putting them on ebay before they have them in hand, not one... that has never happened before.

For those of you who don't know me yet, I was the guy with the green tent in the queue for the No Ball Games Print (Grey).
Yes I WAS No.1 in the queue and managed to get No.21 as POW kept the first 20. I was out queuing in the cold for 2 nights on a hunch!! but i tell you it was worth it!! To actually own a signed Banksy at POW cost is priceless!! and I am trilled to bits!!
Thank you to all whom I met and do stay in touch!

Banksy • No Ball Games GREY, by hlarmy on Dec 21, 2009 11:36:49 GMT 1, An anonymous poll would be interesting asking people to vote if they won (1) a donut and / or (3) a green NBG. There does seem to be very few green NBGs around, although this is not necessarily a surprise given the huge increase in Banksy's popularity, many of whom wouldn't even know this forum exists...
