For those of you who don't know me yet, I was the guy with the green tent in the queue for the No Ball Games Print (Grey). Yes I WAS No.1 in the queue and managed to get No.21 as POW kept the first 20. I was out queuing in the cold for 2 nights on a hunch!! but i tell you it was worth it!! To actually own a signed Banksy at POW cost is priceless!! and I am trilled to bits!! Thank you to all whom I met and do stay in touch!
Welcome, hope you enjoy both the prints

Mr Green Tent man - welcome to the forum - and top marks for your perseverance in the Q. I was up by the bus shelter, but next time I'm coming with a tent and one of those fishing recliners that Slammer had!

Banksy • No Ball Games GREY, by thegreententman on Dec 21, 2009 20:01:11 GMT 1, Here's my guide to urban camping:
First of all, a tent is too big to put on a pavement and you would be blocking passers-by. What I used was a 2 sec SHELTER (XL) from DECATHLON £30.00 (Surry Quays) 1.5m x1.5m just perfectly fits the pavement and ALLOWS people to walk past.
As a seasoned Camper, although no medals awarded by the Duke of Edinburgh when I was a kid, I enclose my set-up which I hope you will embrace for future queuing.
For 2 people, 2 x Sleeping Bags, 1x Bio-Toilet just in case you get caught short (do a google search this is a great idea really!!!), Camping Heater (uses aerosol type butane cans...3 per night) This is what kept us warm as well as body heat LOL. 2 x Foam mats.
Look forward to seeing you all next time......but well prepared.
Again thanks to DMF & Co!!!!!!!!! Great Crowd, Great Company!!!!!

Banksy • No Ball Games GREY, by dh on Dec 21, 2009 20:37:36 GMT 1, eBay price seems to be cooling off a bit, there's buy now or best offer unsold at £1675, must be a direct result of the number of flips.

Gary had talked me through a similar idea to yours, but I'm going for a black frame floated onto conservation foam board... damn this snow though - I've got to wait another day now so Gary can drive down safely! I'll post my photos tomorrow when it arrives...

Banksy • No Ball Games GREY, by grafik on Dec 23, 2009 19:42:29 GMT 1, i heard mr green tent man was giving some tips to some guys later in the Q about the best ways to flip their prints,
not too sure why you would both keep the prints unless you dont live together, so presume you will sell one.
fair enough. i would if my girlfriend was mad enough to come with me.

Can't wait to see what MFM does if he gets to frame a Green one.

Banksy • No Ball Games GREY, by bullet on Dec 25, 2009 0:21:39 GMT 1, thats rich coming for you. how about not interfering with my threads for a start kennas.
i just don't see the point in getting a really nice banksy then whacking a stupid coloured border around it. yes framing is an art, but leave the art in framing to the really boring images. If you want to make the image stand out then less is more, not by putting a massive red line around it. its distracting.

Banksy • No Ball Games GREY, by burn111 on Dec 25, 2009 21:16:35 GMT 1, I'm finding this whole green nbg rather odd. Very few people here won the lotto (unlike donuts - although there are less green) and every winner has held back putting them on ebay before they have them in hand, not one... that has never happened before.
;D ;D

Banksy • No Ball Games GREY, by johnnylondon on Dec 26, 2009 13:28:45 GMT 1, All I am going to say is this. I have been trying to get a Banksy print for a few years now without having to go to the secondary market and without having to sell some of the pieces I own to get it. If this print was never released in this fasion i'd still be waiting and could have been a few more years. For me this was the best present i could have got this year and want to thank whoever decided to do it this way very very much. I have a brilliant story to go with the print and the bottle of JD in the que helped with the warmth. I must say that the last two hours of baby steps between about 09:00 - 11:00 was soul destroying at times but worth it to me. But as someone who has been on serious mission to get one it was worth it. I don't think it shoud be like this everytime....but if there are more people out there like me your time will come to...I got there at about 10pm after a 12 hour shift which started at 07:00 on Friday and finally got to bed after a few celebration drinks that afternoon around 23:00....needless to say i didn't know my name by then.....thank you to whoever decided to do it this way....thank you very much...
