Hirst lighting?, by baldwin on Aug 23, 2007 17:24:47 GMT 1, Anyone remember Hirst on the South Bank Show? Firstly, does anybody know where I can download this episode? can't find it on youtube. Also, does anybody remember the standing lights that he had on a landing in his massive mansion? They looked really cool and would mind seeing if i could get some.
Boring thread I know, but what the hey!

I'm going to try and find out the name of them, but I suspect they may be old industrial lights or something. Beautiful shape and colour though.
I will search through the links you gave me CBL, thanks!

Hirst lighting?, by Daniel Silk on Aug 29, 2007 11:30:07 GMT 1, Im sure you will able to get your hands on one of those at an reasonable sized builders merchants. Its just a standard sort of light any builder would use in a building that had no electric, so they would have a generator, and run wires to a few of these about the place ;D

Hirst lighting?, by baldwin on Aug 29, 2007 11:44:57 GMT 1, Thanks for the link. I never thought that I would be shopping in building merchants for my lights. ;D
EDIT: I may strip it and repaint it or something. I think the design is wasted. Anyone else think they have a nice shape?

Hirst lighting?, by baldwin on Aug 29, 2007 11:54:04 GMT 1, They are plasterer's lights:
www.hss.com/index.php?g=57413&t=zoom
I'm not that bowled over by this picture if them, but they are £25 on ebay and it would be original to have one of these in your house I guess ;D

I think they will be very bright to use as a regular room light Might need to track down a weaker bulb, or maybe put something in to defuse the light a bit

Thanks for the links!

Hirst lighting?, by curiousgeorge on Aug 29, 2007 18:04:37 GMT 1, Conversion would be the way to go with these, those damn transformers probably weigh about 25kgs!
Baldwin- if i were i would have a good hunt around you can get better (imo) lights than this still being industrial but with less bulk...Even wall mounted ones perhaps
P.S Anyone got any links to the south bank show ?
