Perhaps on a personal level it means something to me, would love to get a copy of it, this is one of those instances an image goes beyond just being an image.

Silky, the background was first ligtly sprayed with grey, then I dripped yellowish acrylic paint + water , then sprayed a little "flesh pink" and some more light grey...
Then, first layer of kid is white, then the black one, then the second white layer...
You can see me paint that stencil on some of the pics in the flickr "sitting kid" folder (during a "four hand" performance with Jerôme Mesnager in Paris, a while ago)

I did that one (on medium, 3 mm thick, small size : 31,5 x 31,5 cm) :
and here's one of my Thunders (on 3mm medium too, same size)
and another one (on canvas, 50 x 50 cm) :
on this one, I've hand written "You can't put your arms around a memory" on the side (it's a "3D" canvas with large sides)

Yes, it's a Vinci high quality paper, must be 224 or even 300g, I think. It's nice, strong and thick but the problem is I don't know how I'll send it tomorrow : not sure I can roll it as it's so thick... Maybe I should sandwich it between some thick cardboards instead of rolling it. Will see...

Oh no, maybe "commission" isn't the right word here, don't know. I mean that I didn't have it "in stock"... And when people want an original of one of my stencils on canvas or paper or wood, I just paint one especially... But I've used this stencil for about 4 years now, on walls mainly and on canvas too. Blind Angle are displaying some canvases and will soon release some new prints.
They might display some original "sitting boy" too, don't know yet.
But I can sell you one, no problem.
The price for a similar size on canvas is 2000 euros.
On paper I'll make it 500 euros for the big size, which I think is an interesting price.
I'm asked to cut a smaller stencil of the same image (45 x 55 cm) and so, I will be able to propose some smaller originals on paper for 400 euros (shipping included)...
Does all that sound fair ?
