MEAR ONE - "Common Sense" limited edition giclee (ed of 5)
On April 2nd, the Baurmann Gallery & MEAR ONE will be releasing a limited edition giclee print of MEARโs first definitive masterpiece, โCommon Sense.โ The original painting is 48โ x 60,โ acrylic on canvas and was completed in 1995. This piece was his first developed acrylic painting, as he had previously gained his audience working on large-scale works in spray paint. It was also the first in a series of allegorical paintings that would shape his career. MEAR considers it his โawakening canvas,โ where all of the information and absurdities he had been calling attention too were manifested in one work on canvas. It was a transformative moment in his career when he decided to continue to develop visual language and inform people of the many injustices of the world.
At the specified time and date, the limited giclee edition will go on sale and be available via an email request (to purchase the print) sent to info@baurmanngallery.com. Please see the release information (below) for more information on how to purchase. It will be limited to an edition of 5 (with 1 AP & 1 PP). We are keeping the edition very small to create an extremely limited series of many of his earlier works.

I am getting to the emails that didn't get a print right now but thank you all for the tremendous support. We literally just had to go down the list and get the lowest emails (it seemed almost exactly, within seconds_ at 1pm, so we apologize to anyone who got it in at 1 (or @12:59pm) and did not get it.

As a heads up too, we have a silk-screen print in the works at Modern Multiples as well. Richard Duardo has been awesome and given us some amazing opportunities that we are already working on now. We are definitely elated to be continuing the "David and Goliath" series with Richard and Modern Multiples. We will keep you posted as the image for the screen-print progresses as well...

On Friday, May 14th, โThe Allegory of Complacencyโ will be released through the Baurmann Gallery and MEAR ONE. The limited edition giclee was printed at Modern Multiples studio and includes the Modern Multiples chop. Please see below for information on the release date and pricing information.

From MEAR: This was a symbolic interpretation of Platoโs radical poem called โThe Allegory Of The Caveโ written some 2,500 years ago. Itโs meaning was to explore the human need to grow and learn, curiosity and complacency are the polarities of this tale in which I love to illustrate. This piece is telling how we all hold the key to our liberation and what happens when we unconsciously give our attention to the system.
