I've been away for the past couple of weeks and didn't want to re-post anything that had already been up. But it appears that few people around this neck of the woods have Mear One on their radar just yet. Until this print, neither had I. There were a series of prints with George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld from a couple of years back that Shepard Fairey contributed to, and I think Mear One also created a print for that series.
This print was produced by Baurman Gallery using 11 colors, and hand-drawn separations. I don't understand exactly what that means, but know it means the artist puts a ton of effort into creating the piece, and the end result in this case is a ridiculous print.
"David & Goliath" I'll just point out a few details that can sometimes be overlooked. In the sky you've got contrails/chemtrails from 5 aircraft flying left to right. One of them appears to be exploding as its been hit by his slingshot. The billboard looks like its been tagged with "Fight the system" and then whitewashed. You've got a spray can under David's feet, tags on the walls, and a 13 on the back of the jersey for teh character on the mid/right. I point these details out only because in this case, the detail adds quite a bit to the context and story being told. And I freaking love it.

I know there are a lot of people who are really tired of seeing the all-too common, incredibly lazy, photoshop-stencil combination being passed off as "street art." Besides Banksy and Dolk, I for one, think most of it is utter dog crap. And quite a bit of it sells for good scratch. That's just crazy, particularly when you've got guys like Daniel Danger putting out quality work on such a consistent basis--and he's selling it for less than $40 most of the time.
So this Mear One piece is being posted for all of you who, like me, love finding real talent that is putting out stellar work, that is downright cheap compared to what we've all become accustomed to recently. I'm not affiliated with Baurman or Mear One in any way, but if this is how they're going to introduce themselves, then its an introduction that I'm more than happy to pass along to other people who will appreciate what they're doing; Bringing real art, from a real street artist in a print executed at extraordinarily high standards and for a reasonable price.
This is the sort of print that acts as a wake-up call to artists and galleries that have been riding on Banksy's coat-tails, putting out sub-par pieces while charging nutso prices.

I think this is the best piece by Mear one to date. I agree about the amount of over-rated, lazy 'street-art' out there. Also, a lot of the respected artists churn out the same stuff for years without any sign of development.

Due to being hand deckled, I have to have it floated!! ..as for the framing, I have no idea..
I know a lot of forum members have had experience in such tasks, so am therefore pleading for advice!! 
Once I have the money to frame..she's up..
I have already thought of using the packaging above (as backing..maybe one day!), but it would be far too expensive for me to do this at this time as hoping for full conservation spec on this beauty!!
