Papermonster Faile is HERE, by They call me Stephen on Apr 2, 2008 19:48:44 GMT 1, What do you guys think of the Faile Challenger print. Bit empty i know. I have number 3 of 12 sitting in a tube at home, cant decide whether its worth going on the wall or as part of a trade for something bigger and better

Where did you see the originals? I was v tempted by an OG at LAG but settled for the 2 prints instead. Figured it was too pricey to buy without seeing it...

clean as a whistle - as you can see - all of my money goes towards artwork - I don't eat.

good eye...Marker's Mark BBQ sauce - I wouldn't keep bourbon in the fridge - 2 cubes of ice and a spash of H2o works best - or did, from what I can remember - don't drink anymore..

Papermonster Faile is HERE, by They call me Stephen on Apr 2, 2008 20:30:19 GMT 1, when faile say hand finishing what do they mean. i've seen a few failes of the same run and they all appear indentical in every single way when they've stated 'hand finishing'. Is it the signature and 1986 or something else that im completely missing.
its a shame the colours aren't a litle more obvious on this but i still think it'll look great framed

Papermonster Faile is HERE, by robo on Apr 2, 2008 22:15:12 GMT 1, hey theycallmestephen - Faile runs usually vary quite a lot, esp on small editions. their brush strokes are pretty free to fill in areas of colour quickly and roughly, same as when they are doing a stencil on the street. i've seen different coloured splats, glitters and brush strokes within runs; variations in the offsets of screens and also undocumented colourway variants (though that usually means they extended an over-subscribed run). this is what makes Faile prints so great.
i agree that if this papermonster print works well, it will be because of its subtlty and the detail it shows in the flesh - can't wait to see mine...!

Papermonster Faile is HERE, by oddkabob on Apr 2, 2008 22:54:31 GMT 1, This looks a little flat to me, I can't imagine with 170 prints plus A/Ps that they could do the same amount of hand texturing/finishing as they could for an edition of 10. Plus the background color seems very pale. Dreading the prices, but I'm looking forward to seeing the smaller edition, more "worked-over" prints in June.

so as an Artist's Proof may not actually be that indicative of what the other prints look like
