Eyestorm Exeter - Thursday Micallef, by numusic on Apr 27, 2007 19:28:50 GMT 1, I also don't agree with dkla, I just think that the images are now so familiar that they are not having the same effect as when some people first saw them. Although I have 3 Micallef prints and I love them.
good point.. I have to remind myself of that more often... familiarity breeds contempt and all that
cheers

Eyestorm Exeter - Thursday Micallef, by reados on Apr 27, 2007 20:18:54 GMT 1, I think we were hoping for something new and this is just a collection of stuff we have seen before, selling at the going rate i guess. Nothing bad on Micallef.

Eyestorm Exeter - Thursday Micallef, by Daniel Silk on Apr 28, 2007 21:11:26 GMT 1, Just got back from Exeter ;D
ahhh, The bloke that runs the EyeStorm in Exeter was really friendly ;D we had a really interesting chat about Micallef, Banksy and the whole of the art market ;D If your ever in that part of the country you really must call into the gallery its really worth at look ;D They had all the Micallef on the ground floor, and more general stuff up stairs, Peter Blake and such ;D
Anyway, I got some video, and photos, so I will get to work on them tomorrow and get it all loaded on Silky.TV as soon as I can ;D

Eyestorm Exeter - Thursday Micallef, by Hugs on Apr 29, 2007 16:12:18 GMT 1, Went along thursday night to the preview night and had a good chat with Antony which was nice,a really nice down to earth bloke who takes time out to have a chat with you. The gallery is indeed a great space and the few times i've been down Steve allways has good work on the walls. 1 of the few chances to see a whole collection in 1 place so well worth the drive and bonus of having a beer or 3 with Mr Micallef was a right result, lucky my old mates good lady wife was driving us down..all in all a top night.Well done to Steve @ Eyestorm for bringing the show together. Silky...nice work my good man.

Eyestorm Exeter - Thursday Micallef, by Art-el on Apr 29, 2007 20:26:28 GMT 1, Can only Echo what hugs has said.
After a blowout on the M5 and thinking we wernt going to even get there. To spending 30mins in the company of the man himself. and a charming guy called Ben from Eyestorm, London whilst necking premium lager, what can I say Happy days. Talk about up's and downs in life.
Micallef was a gem, insightful, funny, dark but a absolute down to earth niece fella.
