At least the council is beginning to appreciate Banksy and may be one day other graff/ urban artists,
I love Liverpool but think itโs mad that the council are investing money at the last min' to cover up buildings; they should have done more about, because of the city of culture event. It would have been good to have the buildings and areas looking good for us now.
wouldnt mind so much if they could get Banksy to design the artwork to cover some of the "eyesores".

This line about the building being in poor condition is rubbish. I've been photographing the giant rat regularly and it's condition has not significantly changed in the past three years. The Culture Company are putting these boards up all over the city and they are the same height everywhere. This has been done without thought by an organisation that can't see beyond the Beatles. You might ask why you didn't see the opening concert for the Capital of Culture on TV tonight - The Culture Company forgot to sort out the rights for TV coverage in time - Give them a foot and they shoot it!

Banksy Rat Mural Pub is 'Beyond Repair', by shower on Jan 12, 2008 1:27:42 GMT 1, at least they have tarted up the top half! i always thought culture was the raw essence of a place, derelict of not derelict its still culture! have they put up these boards round half the centre, there are plenty of shit shops, esp these pound ones that need covering up!
