A fellow forum member (who wishes to remain anonymous) asked me to post this on their behalf. Here's the note:
"Hi there,
I'm considering updating my art gallery to take into consideration some of the feedback I'm seeing on the forum and the overall economy. I'm specifically looking at how to improve customer service and pricing for future artwork. Please complete this survey and you will receive a FairQ ID# for a free David Choe Skate Deck and possibly some other goodies we have laying around in boxes. The winner will be chosen in February. I encourage you to not share this code after completing the survey as that will only decrease your chances!

Never registered before, but if someone has with my paypal address then I definitely have an issue.

After the nightmare that was the last Faile release I swore I would do my damnedest NOT to participate in anything that had Fairq involved in it. An amateurish looking site that wanted lots of personal information unsecurely, login problems for countless users, etc etc.
If any gallery is reading this please don't use Fairq. Please.
And Amin please declare your interest in Fairq on this thread so that people aren't mislead.

But I for one am not keen to provide detailed info of a financial nature to someone who "wishes to remain anonymous".

I'm actually a co-owner of the site. We had a tight deadline for the Faile event and are working on a site redesign and also some new features that includes standard waiting lists, individual ads, raffles, and some other goodies.
I can say that the site is secure. It's not FairQ that requests information, it's the user that owns the Q. Getting your Paypal email address isn't that big of a deal as all they can do is send you money not bill you. Also, the Q owner does not see everyone's paypal or shipping address. They just see the winner's information.
Sorry to hear that you don't like the site. If you can PM me and let me know what you'd like to see I can pass that on to my biz partner who manages the technology.
Also, you don't HAVE to register for FairQ.
As for the gallery owner, as they are asking questions about pricing strategy (which is a sensitive issue), they elect to remain anonymous.
Everything we do online is filling out a survey for someone. Facebook and Google have one of the largest databases on people in the world and not a lot of the activity you do on those platforms are secure.
I'm sure by now I would have received 50 negs after posting this!

Fair enough bud. Others will no doubt favour the system, but for me it's like handing over the keys of my car and letting others drive me. I just prefer to be in control.
