I wonder if Andipa and Laz have kissed and made up after their slagging of each other in the press? They've basically become 2 sides of the same coin but Andipa seems to holding most of the cards. Bit of a shame really.

as for the secrecy of Laz and the loveliness of Adipa, im speaking from my own experiances, when i went to the andipa show, he was very nice and talked about all the works, showed us around, showed us more from the back room that wern't out on display, even though it was clear we couldnt afford anywhere near the cheapest thing
when i went to the LAZ print store, and they had all the rare banksy originals upstairs on the 3rd floor, i was stopped from going up, i explained i was up from dundee on a day visit, and it would be nice to see them, but was told no again, even though looking up the stairs, i could see some nice originals, but because i wasnt interested in buying, it was out of bounds

The selection of Banksys on Andipa's website is nowhere near as extensive as the previous exhibition nor, i imagine, this upcoming one. Unless Acoris bought that outright from Laz (which is possible) then one can speculate that perhaps the two galleries are helping one another out. Laz was offering it at ยฃ1M last year but believe they had reduced the price to ยฃ850k in December or January. As for pricing of the rest of the work, I think many here will be pleasantly surprised. I've bought Banksy's from both galleries and both are priced rather well imho given the current environment and will work with able and willing buyers. I have nothing but praise for each gallery and both have been proactive getting prices in line with reality whereas I know plenty of dealers that are still listing inventory at '07/'08 highs. Should be a nice show and I'd love to get it into my schedule to get over there for it.

I don't know that there is a 100% answer to this but it is no secret that Andipa have been major buyers of Banksy at auction for years now and are on the short list of galleries one would contact sourcing a specific image as next to Laz they have the most inventory for that artist that I've seen. I doubt much, if any is borrowed from other galleries and would speculate that most is probably owned outright by Andipa with perhaps a few on consignment.

Freaking amateurs, i have been dealing with auction houses in Europe for years and have never been so patronised, indeed i have usually had good experiences with them all apart from these muppets. Anyhow, sorry to rant on this thread peeps, all over now.

A lot of Design galleries are offering pieces that they dont own outright anyhow, they may own a few but some are on consignment and some are at other galleries, its the way it is..... the Network.

I think its a bit over the top for the moment but If I was him I would be pricing that piece high, not really wanting to sell it thinking more of its possible value 10 years down the line.
