after nola?? he hasnt released an unsigned print since u/s trolleys over a year ago.
gold flags special trolley stop and search nola
the days of unsigned prints are behind us. makes it all too confusing.

Banksy Prints - Signed or Unsigned?, by raiden on Nov 27, 2008 23:01:45 GMT 1, I doubt that we'll see anymore unsigned prints, especially because they marginally increase the chance of fraud, particularly as the price differential between the unsigned and signed widens.
Recently, an 'Applause' Unsigned on ebay went for ยฃ410.00. You can forge a signature on it and get ยฃ3,000.00+ based on the last one I saw go (I actually think the last one I saw on the bay went for ยฃ4K, but I could be wrong)
But anyways, that's one big reason I can't see anymore unsigned pieces coming down the pike.
Its a bit harder to make a perfect forgery with the POW stamp etc. than just buy the cheaper unsigned off the bay, pop on a signature, and sell it for 8 to 10 times what you paid!!!
But beyond that, there are plenty of others reasons - namely that the prices of some of his more recent unsigned works have been in the toilet considering what they initially sold for. Furthermore, it seems that Banksy has been moving away from putting his tag on his prints - which I thought kind of justified unsigned a bit more - because you still knew it was Banksy.
Anyways, my two cents.

I thought unsigned has been assigned to the scrap heap.

Banksy Prints - Signed or Unsigned?, by goffy on Nov 28, 2008 8:36:21 GMT 1, After the Nola episode he may well release a large un-signed edition so most people could get one who want one.

Banksy Prints - Signed or Unsigned?, by Heavyconsumer on Nov 28, 2008 14:14:04 GMT 1, I see a big problem releasing unsigned prints where a signed version of the same print exists. However an unsigned edition is perfectly viable in the vein of Flags, where only the unsigned version is released, or if the edition itself differs in some significant way, such as the colour of the image or the paper.

Banksy Prints - Signed or Unsigned?, by onemandown72 on Nov 28, 2008 15:06:02 GMT 1, I very much doubt that any new unsigned Banksy work will surface. As with the creation of Pest Control, Banksy has (either under advice or through his own steam) looked at maintaining control of his market, and removing any possiblities of unautherised / fake work floating about. This will also have an (and has) had an impact on edition sizes as I cannot see the appeal in signing huge print runs. If it's about his fans then surely it's better to continue putting on thought provoking shows such as the Pet store & the Cans festival. I for one would far rather see this, as ultmately it's about watching the mans undoubted talent
