Damien Hirsts gift, by sashaz on Feb 12, 2010 1:37:48 GMT 1, Just saw culture show and last year they had a program with art that people had on their walls. A lady on the show said she would love a hirst butterfly picture.
After the show aired she got a call to say that damien wanted to thank her for mentioning him and would she be available for a delivery. to cut a long story short he gave her one of the pictures she had mentioned.
i dont know if it was a pr stunt or just a gift but it was a cool gesture as there wasnt a guarantee that people would find out.

do you think Cartrain might do a statue of Hirst bent over with a pencil sharpener in his bum, with a pencil sticking out of it. Maybe entitled "you can stick your pencils...."

I have had presents of art that just arrived without warning because i collect certain artists
