But you have to give credit to the guy, he had the balls to try it and risk it all , + spend quite a lot of time helping other people

I think it would be brilliant if it was Banksy. It would prove just how shallow the art world, hypesters, scenesters and want to be collectors really are. Steal money from the systemโfriggin brilliant if it is. Many artists have dealt with the concept of how to defeat the art world from the inside and most fail (they become part of the system) this on the other hand would expose the sham.

No, it's all about looking good. Brainwash harvests imagery we all already know and love. That is it's main appeal. Everyone likes Warhol, Banksy, Haring, Campbells Soup cans etc. screen them on canvas, add some swirls and a lot of hype and voila! But true, some (a lot) of it looks real hackneyed, it's not always as easy as it sounds.
