The Libertines man will kick off his next set of solo shows on February 18 in Norwich, touring until March 2, when he plays Sheffield. Before that he will release a new single, 'So Long, My Lover', on December 13 โ the song will be the latest from his debut self-titled solo album, released earlier this year. THE LIBERTINES are getting back together again to play Glastonbury Festival this June.
That should keep the sniffer dogs happy for the afternoon.
The group, fronted by PETE DOHERTY and CARL BARAT, reformed last year especially for the Reading and Leeds festivals.
And, surprisingly, the gigs were more professional than when The Libs first knocked around together and caused chaos at venues countrywide.
This time, though, there is a danger that Pete will get "lost" in Glasto's legendary hippy fields.
A source said: "Although there are no signs of new songs, the boys have realised that they can take a nice payday by playing each summer.
"They bagged more than ยฃ1million for Reading and Leeds in 2010 and, although they won't get as much for Glasto, it will still be a good earner."
Pete wrote on his blog last week that his manager had phoned, saying, "There's some offers for Libertines gigs."
He then deleted the post after realising that he was giving too much away about the band's plans.
Pete, Carl and bandmates JOHN HASSALL and GARY POWELL are lined up for a slot near the top of the bill on the Other Stage.
CEE LO GREEN, THE VACCINES and BIFFY CLYRO have also been signed up by farmer MICHAEL EAVIS who runs the Somerset festival.
With COLDPLAY headlining, it's shaping up to be a special year...

The Libertines' management have spoken to NME to clear up rumours about the band playing live again this year.
Earlier this month co-frontman Carl Barat said that UK festival shows could be on the cards for 2011. But following further reports about potential gigs doing the rounds, he and the band's team have said that performances are now unlikely.
A newspaper report today (February 28) suggested that Barat's solo deal with the PowerAmp company also had connotations for the London four-piece's plans.
The band's spokesperson said: "Contrary to press reports today, The Libertines are not involved in any deal with PowerAmp music and no shows are scheduled for the foreseeable future whilst all members continue to work on their individual projects."
The Libertines made their live comeback at the Reading And Leeds Festivals last August, but haven't played together since.
Barat is continuing to play solo gigs, while bandmate Pete Doherty also has an extensive solo touring schedule this year.
