The Libertines, by bristolboy on Mar 31, 2010 6:12:55 GMT 1, I managed to see them at the Bristol louisiana before 'what a waster' came out, and two more times before the first album, they were exciting then. I saw them twice after the first album and they were dissapointing, im failing to get excited by this.

Watched Pete at the Roundhouse last year and he really pulled that solo show off, faultless. But I know he can be a bit hit and miss live.

The Libertines, by Dellboyy on Mar 31, 2010 13:26:55 GMT 1, Saw Babyshambles at Leeds a few years ago, was very unimpressed... have never seen so many insane screaming young girls throwing themselves over the barrier though! Must say i liked their last album though, so maybe he's improving.
Would love to see Libertines mind you, hope they come to Manchester for a gig!

Fans of The Libertines have praised the band following their comeback gig at The Forum in London last night (August 25).
The group split in 2004 but have reunited ahead of this weekend's Reading and Leeds festival.
Pete Doherty, Carl Barat, Gary Powell and John Hassall played a 22-song career-spanning set at what was their first public performance in six years.
The gig has been positively received by the band's fans, many of whom have contacted Gigwise to share their thoughts.
One fan, Nick Hucks, said: โIt was like they finally delivered what they had threatened to for so many years. Absolutely incredible.โ
On Twitter, @rachelpapers described the atmosphere as โcompletely electricโ, while Chris Reynolds said he thought the gig was โbrilliantโ.
Another Twitter user, @themindofian, said: โAmazing. Just felt like they'd never been away. Any doubts over whether they could get it together again have been blown away!โ
But Slapdash wasn't convinced, describing the band as โover-ratedโ.
The Libertines spoke sparingly during their set, which included a nine-song encore that ended with traditional closer 'I Get Along'.

Very good gig.
I havenโt been to a guitar band gig for some time but last night stood up there with the best I have previously seen. Very energetic and raw, just as shambolic yet seamlessly together as theyโve always been. Itโll be a real shame if they knock it on the head after the Reading & Leeds festivals dates as rumours suggest they might as they still collectively seem to offer so much as a band.
Truthfully speaking the chemistry between Pete and Carl didnโt seem to be the same as earlier libs gigs I have been to with both generally keeping themselves to themselves minus one or two mic sharing moments but for the moment and context it was a great comeback. I will be very interested to hear new material should any surface and hope they donโt dilute their legacy.
Got offered a ticket at 6.30pm last night but it was too late as I was in the midlands.

Made up for not being able to go to Leeds this year!
