BANKSY Film "Exit Through The Gift Shop", by samuraiwriter on Apr 11, 2010 22:43:29 GMT 1, Saw the film at the Istanbul Int'l Film Festival on Thursday night. Packed house, looked to be at 100% (+) capacity, although it was a smallish basement theater. Very cool room to see it in actually. Good sound and digital projection, no typical smoke / loo break in between, which made it the best movie experience ever in Turkey for me! God, I hate the second act break, way to kill the momentum!
Great film, very funny, even my beautiful wife, who could really careless about Mr. B or MBW, loved it. She wanted more, which kind of shocked me. Whoever edited, directed, etc... (Banksy?) did a really fantastic job. Music was also well placed. Great film. Still feel the same way about MBW, but my interest in Mr. B has increased. Seems to be a guy who is VERY AWARE of what is going on.
But, the high point for me, was the one second shot of Choe painting that freeway whale from Dirty Hands. That is the film I want to see... Choe is something else. Banksy, while not my taste in the home, kills it on the steets. Looking forward to the DVD!
