2010 is going to be a good year for falklands oil shares (DES, RKH, FOGL, BOR)
.. so might be a good time go buy in,
Desire - going drilling next month, the rig is on its way
rockhopper - using desires rig to drill a bit.
borders and southern - just raised $120m to finance future unannounced program
falklands oil and gas. - BHP farmed in, have a few drill spots in 2010
if they find oil i will be very very rich, if they dont, well... 
but IMHO, DYOR ETC...
worth a punt.
UEN is also very interesting,

i designed shops for a while.. radley handbags, tower of london..
i designed private jet interiors for a while.. nice expensive ones..
i worked for a branding agency for a while..
i have a fair bit invested in shares.. if all goes to plan i will have a very nice house deposit or a sports car in 2011.

There is great source rock there but there are issues over the "traps" and the seismic is not 100% convincing. Also Desire senior management are a bit of a joke, never trust geologists!
Saying all that I'm a long term holder of Desire, sitting here with my fingers crossed (makes it a bit difficult to type......)

indeed, i average 44p.. my uncle came over for xmas and runs a hedge fund and is also on the board of alot of oileys and he said he was so so about the whole thing, wasnt going either day, but that he did hold shares.. he was alot more optimistic about FOGL, thought the BHP farm in and also knew a few guys on the board..
im very much prepared to lose everything.. but im very much crossing everythign i have and hoping the OG strikes it rich.

he hasnt brought into FOGL yet, i will ask him if he has heard anything about drilling and rig etc.
FOGL are under license to drill 2 wells this year. i think if it becomes clear they arnt using the OG and are using BHP's rig or ship then thats a tasty time to buy. either way i am more confident about BOR/FOGL's chances than i am about DES/RKH.
he sold out DES today at 117. looking to buy back in tomorrow.
i didnt sell mine today, partly because i was asleep most of the day and missed that spike.
i have 2k to top up tomorrow in DES, hoping for a high 90's low 100's buy in.. going to see some big sells tomorrow. i think alot of PI's might have borrowed the cash for the OO and will sell for the 30% profit and pay back the loan.
my FI holding isnt great, (im only a design student) but is about 4.5k DES, 1k BOR 3k RKH
will sell out my initial DES stake on spudding. leave the rest to ride.
fingers crossed will have 20k come march.. ready to put into the southern basin.

i brought in more of DES on the 12th, and am buying more today as fund come available. but its a MASSIVE RISK. huge risk, but if it pays off we will all be laughing, it was tipped in moneyweek and the FT yesterday.
aside from falklands im looking at, RRL, UEN, MTA, HAWK, RBS, LLOYDS, OMAG.OTCBB

iii and TDW are pretty good i hear.
im as excited about DES drilling as i get about a banksy release. its hard to keep off the internet checking the price every 10 seconds, waiting for an RNS.. i fear its taking over my life.
its an all or nothing punt. if it works i shall be posting looking for B originals, if it doesn't ill be welling my Very Little Helps + NBG for food money.

not entirely true. i suspect on this drilling campaign the outward comms will be very restricted from the rig.
but of course there will be rumours flying around like anything which will have massive effect on the SP.
if you look at the 98 drilling SP, there was a 300% swing one day!

they say upto 1.4bB recoverable.. unrisked its about 2.30 and risked about ยฃ23
i havent done any calcs for any of their other prospects.

For what it's worth, I'd go for anything this year in companies to do with windfarms - they've got the go ahead around the UK and the companies that manufacture the components imo will profit.
My mate recommended Fidelity US recovering shares last year - made a huge profit . Fidelity China has just been, or is about to be released - and is recommended. I'd go for that if my money wasn't tied up in art!!!
