BAST ORIGINAL. GRENADE STENCIL, by alexnh123 on May 17, 2010 14:33:07 GMT 1, farm1.static.flickr.com/27/49368604_a502c2d86c.jpg
Bast original street piece. Grenade stencil on small metal door.
I will post a photo of the piece, but this is the piece in situ, back in 2005, taken from flickr.
The piece was removed/rescued before the removal of the electricity box. (The electricity box has since been replaced).
This was from the Leonard Street area of east london, from the height of the street art scene when you could see a lot of Faile's / Bast's / Banksy's in this area.
After hanging onto it for some years, i am finally putting it out there for sale. I am open for discussion on valuation.
Save the 'you shouldn't take street pieces chat' - this electricity box was destined for removal and replacement so it was either a matter of taking the bast before it went, or losing the whole thing to the council skip never to be seen again.

Out of interest, how did you know the electricity box was destined for removal or replacement?
As far as I know there are no notices advertising removal or replacement of electricity boxes. However, if a box got damaged (e.g. had it's door ripped of by some muppet) then it kind of follows that it would be replaced at some point in order to prevent weather damage or some kid electricuting themselves

BAST ORIGINAL. GRENADE STENCIL, by alexnh123 on May 17, 2010 15:10:35 GMT 1, Try not to worry yourself too much with the details Silvermyn. It wasn't replaced immediately. A new black door went up almost straight away. The whole electricity box was then removed, the ground was tarmacked over, and a new electricity unit was then re-erected over a year or so later; suggesting both that it wasn't removed for safety reasons, and it was surplus to requirements at the time. Hindsight is a wonderful thing i know. Long and short of it is that this is where it is now, and these things happen all the time - deal with it.

BAST ORIGINAL. GRENADE STENCIL, by silvermyn on May 17, 2010 15:14:32 GMT 1, Okay thanks.
In terms of valuation I would say its worth next to nothing (squared). Just a guess though, no idea what stolen property fetches these days
Good luck with the sale.
