WTB Banksy Nola Grey Rain $7,500 USD, by mmmike on May 20, 2010 15:12:31 GMT 1, I put the offer in USD because it sounds bigger than in GBP. I thought about using JPY but that might be going a bit far.
I’m not sure if this offer is too high or too low but this is what I can afford. I’m getting a tax refund and a bonus from work tomorrow so thought I would try to spend it on something that I would love rather than blow it on retirement savings.
This may be the only time I’ll have this much money.
If anyone wants to sell, I will give Nola good home.
It must be in perfect condition with all the right papers.
Thanks, Mike

WTB Banksy Nola Grey Rain $7,500 USD, by mmmike on May 20, 2010 16:33:23 GMT 1, Don't know who Bojangles is, so no. I’m Mike from Toronto.
I have an art collect worth more than $500USD! Yes that is correct 500 big ones.
Not only would this be the most expensive piece of art I have ever bought, it would also be the most expensive anything I have ever bought!
In general I’m quite cheap and this purchase would make me broke so I’m not interested in other expensive prints unless it is a crazy great deal.
If the offer is “suspect” or too high I would be happy to pay less. Make me an offer. I can go as low as free

Good luck finding one and double check the background on it just in case. Don't part with any of your hard earned until POW have confirmed the seller is the registered owner.

WTB Banksy Nola Grey Rain $7,500 USD, by mmmike on May 20, 2010 16:53:41 GMT 1, Thanks for the tip silvermyn.
Yes I probably should have mentioned all that. The other thing if it is coming from the UK I need to figure out the shipping and paypal stuff to make sure I’m covered. When I say $7,500USD that is the to my door price including all expenses.

Hi Doug, I'm interested in the print and I wish I could go to BC. I have never been, but I don't have the vacation time and it is a crazy expensive trip. If you want to help me validate the condition (pics) and authenticity with Pest Control of your print, I'd be more than happy to do a deal through paypal / Canada post. Interested? Or if you plan to come to Toronto anytime soon, that would also work.
Let me know.
And can someone tell me what is so strange about my posts? I'm just trying to buy a print, why is that so strange?

WTB Banksy Nola Grey Rain $7,500 USD, by mmmike on May 21, 2010 14:06:46 GMT 1, Wow what a tough room! I can under stand being suspicious about a sale that is too good to be true but I’m trying to buy. If it is such a crazy offer why doesn’t someone just sell me the print? Anyway a side from the part about me not getting to buy a print yet, I find this whole thing very entertaining.
But can someone please tell me who Mr. Bojangles is?
And Sevieray101, I would love to do things through pm but I have not received any offers yet. I have only sent one pm here. That was to alexh123 to find out what she was talking about (the Mr. Bojangles thing). I have not got a reply, or maybe i have and just don't know where I would check for a reply on this site?

Haha - the million dollar question! (or perhaps £15K ish...)
Have a read of this thread...
urbanartassociation.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=53694&page=2#661968
Basically a grey rain Nola got stolen from Art republic. The day after this was made public you came along with a very tempting offer for one. I think some people may have thought you were from Art Republic (like a certain Mr Bojangles appears to be) and your offer was thief bait.

To check your PMs, click on the letter icon at the top right of the menu bar - it will be flashing red if you have one.
Best of luck in your search for a Nola...

WTB Banksy Nola Grey Rain $7,500 USD, by mmmike on May 21, 2010 15:02:46 GMT 1, Thanks Spirit. That clears things up a bit. Still not sure why someone wanting to buy would be suspicious, coincidental sure.
It would be nice if alexnh123 wasn’t so quick to make baseless accusations / insinuations but not a big deal it has made my first experience posting here way more interesting.
Sucks that there is one less out of the edition of 63 that I can buy. But no I’m not related to any gallery although I did just recently buy a print from Art Republic online (Dolk Finish Line). Coincident? Lol.
btw I am still looking to buy a Nola.

WTB Banksy Nola Grey Rain $7,500 USD, by spirit on May 21, 2010 15:37:07 GMT 1, Well, the offer looks a bit suspicious because it is such a good one. It is not unrealistic to think that AR might want to tempt the thief out of his hole and this might be a way of doing it. If that were the case, then the offer would be bogus as you would have no intention of actually paying the money, you would just be trying to catch the thief. Under the circumstances, and considering the timing, I think alexnh123 was not being unreasonable to ask the question she initially did - although her follow up comment was perhaps pushing things a little.
You'd be surprised how often people try and manipulate the system by posting under multiple accounts, and it makes sense that people are suspicious of certain kinds of posts.
