On February 5 2010 two paintings were bought from the gallery by somebody who used stolen credit cards. If you have information about these or if you see them , please contact the Shoreditch Police Station 020 7275 3210 quoting case number 4607626 / 10
They said they wanted them for a new club in London and picked them up in a van that was being used for a building project so if you are out and about and see a massive Herakut or walk through a glass Pure Evil door then get in touch... I would be very glad to offer an original artwork as a reward if anybody finds them or can give information leading to the return of these paintings...

just to throw something out there... isn't a good theft/scam a bit of an art form anyway? obviously some good planning went into this, well executed - got away with it - bit like laying up a nice street piece or bombing a high risk area - who suffers really? - 'the man' credit companies and the banks - and i'm thinking we dont have much sympathy for them

They said that because I did it over the phone I should have then cancelled all the transactions when the guy came in and re-charged the cards using a pin number. This was in the small print in the PDQ book . Because I didnt do this I am at fault apparently.
I was selling the Herakut for a collector and I have paid him 75% of the wall price already so im out of pocket on this.
BUMMER.
Thank bejeezus I am also doing my own art thing as well as running the gallery. I would imagine this kind of thing would totally slam a gallery who only relied on the sale of primary and secondary market artwork that they do not produce inhouse.

I am just surprised someone would make all the efforts to "steal" what aren't very expensive pieces of art (compared to some high-end contemporary art pieces). It must be specifically for someone who really likes Herakut and yours.
Did no one remember what the guy looks like, and no CCTV footage of the man and van (number plate) from nearby? Good luck with recovering them in any case. Hope the police discovered clues that would help.

That's a good point!  the gallery is right on the Congestion Charge boarder  could that have a record of the number plate when it crossed the line outside the gallery?
