Adam Neate in Hong Kong, by Deleted on May 4, 2010 20:44:50 GMT 1, Think it's pretty cool that Elms seem to be nurturing Adam's career in this way - very much evolutionary and playing the long game.
Does anyone know if Elms offer authentication for the print runs? They didn't come with COA's....they're obviously not happy with this as the Parla release came with robust paperwork....I wouldn't object to buying another print but lack of COA gives me the willies..

Adam Neate in Hong Kong, by Jeezuz Jones Snr on May 30, 2010 6:25:08 GMT 1, Just got back from a 3 week china trip, we ended in HK.. I dragged the misses around the H Art fair yesterday. Was a great show, lots of pieces in the millions and a lot of prospective buyers, would be nice to have that type of money.. great to see warhols, Hirst and others in the flesh. Neate had 3 pieces showing as listed below, the footie piece is the standout for me, really looked amazing in the flesh... not so sure about the umbro footie boots, he should have gone with 'puma kings'

Adam Neate in Hong Kong, by Jeezuz Jones Snr on May 30, 2010 21:44:25 GMT 1, Hi mate...only the third piece (piano) didnt have a red dot, i was there saturday afternoon.. I am not sure of prices either as the gallery was busy and couldnt get near to ask - we kind of rushed around as the misses wanted to go shoe shopping!!! maybe give elms a call just to clarify.

Adam Neate in Hong Kong, by Harveyn on May 27, 2011 19:36:52 GMT 1, I really love all of Adam's early work but the last show and this just leave me cold. I really want to love the work but it just does nothing for me and whilst I agree its different it is certainly not progression IMO.
That said this is piece is touching on genius. I can easily put up with all the other stuff if the journey takes him toward works like this.

I am a huge Adam Neate fan. If I had the cash and space I'd own the lot, but I have to agree Neil, I am really not feeling these new pieces apart from the one you have pointed out. Having said that I decided not to buy posters and get him to sign them at the last show because I didn't like the images. Until I went inside and saw them and was gutted I hadn't bought them and got that special little squiggle. What Adam has achieved in the few years I have been into him i simply can't find words to describe. I think this may be a case of feeling you have to always be moving forward?. Artists are always getting slated for not moving forward, eg Nick Walker, Dan Baldwin etc, etc. This imo just proves theres nothing wrong with taking your time. I did love most of Adams work from the last big show and I liked the small 6 piece show he did too. But these are average at best. Adams still my favorite artist, but Mr Jago is pushing closer every day.
