This was deliberately "bid up" by "someone" to give the impression that this had been sold for £7K and by definition this was the "going rate "for Parla Watercolours.
I have no idea who would do this (?) but can only assume that it is someone who has a vested interest in not seeing a watercolour sell for a far lower price bearing in mind that this was a "no reserve" auction - maybe someone who also owns a similar watercolour ?
What I do know is that the owner had nothing to do with this and needs to sell this piece and is frankly VERY pissed off.
It is a lovely piece with a great frame and is avaialble as a VERY fair deal for someone ?
