Dale Grimshaw π¬π§ New Painting β’ Print Release β’ Street Art, by Replete on Jan 12, 2009 21:59:03 GMT 1, I really like these new pieces espeically the EL Toro's use of colour and composition. I applaud any artist that tries to evolve their work by employing new styles and techniques rather than churning out the same thing again and again with minor tweaks because they consistently sell.
Picasso said most artists find their pan and begin to bake cakes all their lives. For me the prospect of being locked into one idea and method fills me with dread, as it seems like artistic death. A zombie state of shuffling through the motions destined to stagnate and become somewhat amorphous like repeating the same word over and over until it soon loses all meaning.
So my hat goes off to Dale for pushing his boundaries and peoples comfort zones with this latest work.

Mad excited about picking up my first piece from Dale too, canΒ΄t wait to see it in the flesh.
Difficult to choose though, a killer show for sure.

The prints in mint condition with full provenance. The print was bought for about Β£150, and I would consider selling for cost + postage. If interested just let me know.

Thanks for all the good wishes for the show. Dale has worked really hard and has put a lot of himself into the work, so these positive comments are really encouraging for him.
Half way through hanging it at the moment and it's beginning to look really powerful.

A lot of works were already sold, roughly half I would guess by the time I left after an hour.

Was a really good busy evening. Was hoping to take some photos but was too busy chatting to people. Graphotism came though and one of their photographers took loads of photos as they are going to do a piece about the show. I'll see if we can get some from them and post them on here. Art Review also came and will be reviewing the show.
The feedback to me about the show was incredibly positive. It looks amazing!

Some fantastic images... as you all know
Images on a web site give you one thing - images
on a wall in a gallery or at home in context are a
totally different situation.
Several new directions for Dale - larger imposing
at times / intense in others.
If you get the chance people - check this one out.
Caught up with both Dale and Chris - Dale was a
true gent - plenty of ideas and total enthusiasm... and
Chris keen on giving us a bit of history to boot.
..
