I'm going abroad and I've been offered the chance to have the insurance paid on my Banksy collection, in return for letting a company hang them in one of their meeting rooms.
Does anyone have a good idea of how much I should insure them for?
All prints are framed and signed with full POW / Lazarides prov.
Smiley flying copper (42/150)
CND Soldiers (68/350)
Churchill turf mohawk (60/750)
Pulp Fiction banana (33/150)
Jack & Jill (227/350)
Kate Moss Marilyn - blue/grey (16/20)
Any help would be much appreciated!

If you do do this- you need a cast iron contract of lease to them, one that is legally solid in the event of theft, being left in sunlight, some muppet knocking them off the wall etc....

I have always been told I need to find a recognised valuer and have never had any joy at all. As such everything I bought can only be insured for its face value.

For what it's worth i'd value lexbarters prints as follows:
Smiley flying copper (42/150) - ยฃ8,000
CND Soldiers (68/350) - ยฃ5,000
Churchill turf mohawk (60/750) - ยฃ8,000
Pulp Fiction banana (33/150) - ยฃ10,000
Jack & Jill (227/350) - ยฃ5,000
Kate Moss Marilyn - blue/grey (16/20) ยฃ35,000
So that's ยฃ71,000 in total

No point having the insurance paid if the policy doesn't cover them when they are in the custody of the company.

I recently had to change insurance after getting a couple of signed pieces as my insurer would'nt cover me.
I have contents now with the AA via " Towergate ( underwritten by Axa )
Their tel is 01708 777710
Address = Towergate house,2 county gate,Stacey's st, Maidstone, Kent, ME14 1ST
You are covered for anything under ยฃ 1,500 as part of normal household contents but have to specify anything above.
I've insured some pieces at curreny market value just by saying .......
" Banksy print, ยฃ 4,000 " and that's it
They may be able to assist with leasing but i don't know for definite.
