For those who like Blek Le Rat, by gozgoz on Apr 22, 2008 22:11:25 GMT 1, i realised from another post that not many may have heard of other artists from the Mai 68 period and similar to Blek and possibly Blek's peers or inspiration...
But just thought people who like Blek, possibly like the CONCEPT behind an art piece as opposed to the actual skill in the EXECUTION (im looking at Blek's RATS piece here which Insite had explained to me)
So you guys should go check out Miss Tic, Nemo and Jerome Mesnager. All of them are in the same vein. I like Mesnager...
its also good to remind oneself when looking at these that these were done in the 70s or 80s or something....

Not wanting to hijack your thread, but as I'm new here, can anyone point me in the direction of other worldwide reactionary street artists?
With all the conflict in the world there must be some supreme work being done out there that we just don't get to hear about?

For those who like Blek Le Rat, by Jef Aerosol on Apr 23, 2008 12:35:40 GMT 1, I sent links to some of those friends' sites in another thread. Jรฉrรดme (Mesnager) started in 1984, Miss Tic too, and Nemo a bit later if I remember well.... So they don't have much to do with Mai 68 ! But Gรฉrard Zlotykamien (Zloty) or Ernest Pignon-Ernest are more "mai 68 generation" I was only 11 years old in 68 and people like Miss tic or Mesnager who are younger than me, were very little children at the time ! The "atelier des Beaux arts" posters and productions were the main thing at the time. They really did awesome stuff. When I find a minute, I'll try to post some links...

For those who like Blek Le Rat, by funyoung on Apr 23, 2008 16:13:56 GMT 1, I'm loving the Mesnagers on glass on that Flickr site. Those are brilliant. Very clean edges and images. Prefer the ones that 'interact' with the environment very clever too. eg. www.flickr.com/photos/tofz4u/492895765/
