Yeah, and not a single penny going towards Kibera !!! I love what it is doing but since it is part of a project "Women are heroes", I expect some money to go into associations/projects in slums... and it seems it is not the case.
'all the money is going back into the work' he says, 'I planning a cultural center for Kibera, it will be a place where the people can post photographs on the walls.'
Last April JR returned to Rio to set up a cultural centre in the heart of the favela. All of the money he makes from the sale of his work โ in 2009 a print of one of JR's most famous photos, "Ladj Ly", sold at auction for ยฃ26,250, and he has just sold an image to Damon Albarn for the cover of the forthcoming Africa Express album โ is ploughed back into his projects so that JR can ensure his continued independence.
To my knowledge, nothing has been done... And I already wrote twice to him (in French) to find out if something has been done (just for information), sadly got no response.
Will contact the French Embassy in Kenya to find out if they know anything about it.

Few doubt the ability of JR I think but an edition of 1000 at Euro 350 is too much (IMO) for the market to bear.
You might be right about the Euro though, even (although denied) Sarkozy thinks it sucks. I just hope it craps out sufficiently and timeously for August......

im happy with mine but im not 100% certain which edition i have! i bought it here on the forum and was told by the seller that it was originally bought from crakedz (before JR joined up with laz) ; so is that the edition that was then sold by Laz

I agree that the euro is going to sink further so I'll look to pick this up in a few months time as I very much doubt this will sell out in the near future (that's on the basis that they don't increase the euro price as it falls against the pound!).
