New Hecox on Blk/Mrkt, by Heavyconsumer on Jun 10, 2008 5:50:24 GMT 1, The USPS priority or express has always worked fine for me to the UK! UPS is a LOT more expensive.
I also think this is the nicest print I've seen of his btw. Not tempted though. There's something sterile about the feel of his work I find. It's brilliant work, but it's almost too accurate for my tastes. I prefer a little more interpretation and mood enhancement, if that makes sence. I'm not doubting Hecox's ability in any way, it's just my view.

people, you can choose your own shipping method - this is what you should see upon checkout:
simply choose USPS if you want a cheaper option to UPS and stop yer whinin'

New Hecox on Blk/Mrkt, by Gentle Mental on Jun 10, 2008 7:35:46 GMT 1, hecox makes the every day special with his colour choice and composition...
i see his sterility as his "interpretation", by omitting details and flattening the image with harsh blocks, he chooses what to show you to give you his feelings of the place.
like a memory.. a mental image... you can only remember so much... what you don't remember is never quite important....
with a hecox, you can hear the noise, you can feel the temperature and the weather, you get inside the street
(GEORGE, just sent you a mail to request my shipping (to China) to be changed to International First Class ~~ help!)

Thanks for that, it's always good to hear how people are able to "connect" with pieces/artists I struggle with I hope this print gives you the buzz you get from his previous work. As mentioned, there is something about this particular image that I find more "palatable" than much of his other work I've seen. I think it could be the increased colour density (rows of parasols) that does that for me, but I'm not quite sure. The scene is more intense than some other pieces too and how the hell does he get the Beetle so damned perfect? I'll go back to some of his pieces and try to keep your comments in mind, but ultimately we all find different attributes satisfying for each of us to varying degrees. It's abundantly clear to me that Evan Hecox is a very talented artist, but I just find his work a little too clean and perfectly proportioned! Yet if being too perfect is the worst thing I can think of to say, then the problem is clearly mine as opposed to the art's!!!

New Hecox on Blk/Mrkt, by Gentle Mental on Jun 10, 2008 17:35:09 GMT 1, Unbelievable....Not sold out? c'mon UK! the shipping's reduced! do us proud with your strong, strong pound!
It's a nicer image, by a more established artist, costs lesser and in a smaller, high quality, edition than TODD JAMES!
or has the recession officially begun?

New Hecox on Blk/Mrkt, by dwight on Sept 10, 2008 2:07:12 GMT 1, hecox is only gaining popularity over here. He's becoming more and more recognizable, and his original works are harder to come by. I think that his prints are very special and do justice to his originals..(with respect to matbat's opinion)
