HIRST etching - "Xylene Cyanol Dye Solution", by jam on Jun 22, 2010 15:13:46 GMT 1, Hirst etching titled "Xylene Cyanol Dye Solution", from 2005. Size is 96.3 x 73.3 cm, and it's priced at ยฃ7500 The spot series is Hirst's most sought-after body of work. This edition was limited to 65, so they are fairly rare. This engraving was also quite difficult to print, since each of the 96 colors was applied to the plate by hand by the printer, and each of the spots is in a different color. This etching is on 350 gsm Hahnemuehle paper, and printing and editioning this series took over a year but the result is a brilliant saturation of color not possible in lambda c-prints (those are also an edition of hundreds, and commonly faked). All gallery provenance is included and this etching is 100% mint and stored flat since new.

HIRST etching - "Xylene Cyanol Dye Solution", by jam on Dec 1, 2010 4:35:55 GMT 1, I've got a few of the spot etchings, and they are far better than the lambda prints because there's no sheen on the paper and it makes the colour of the spots stand out and they have a bit of depth to them. I've got hi-res images of the actual print if anyone wants to see them. May consider (part/whole) trades on this too...
