posting a print to the US, by mj on Jul 5, 2010 19:11:29 GMT 1, I have sold my first print to member in the US and need help what is best courier or best way to send from the UK.
The person does not want me to send it ensured due to cost maybe?? But I would like great peace of mind that the print gets to him in same condition [ mint ] I sent him as theirs a chargeback/reversal attached to the paypay payment.
many thanks in advance

posting a print to the US, by chrispa on Jul 5, 2010 19:18:07 GMT 1, i would send it Royal Mail International Mark as printed papers Insurance can be had for up to £500 for around £6.00 - so i would do it (4.25 covers you up to £41) and the print will also be tracked HOWEVER you MUST ensure length of tube is no more than 90cm and length + 2 x diameter is less than 105 cm Depending on amount of insurance required shipping should be around £15 possibly less if you are too large it'll cost you a fortune (£60 +)

posting a print to the US, by chrispa on Jul 5, 2010 20:03:08 GMT 1, any customs charge is for the buyer - you will never pay it, but if you need to insure for full value then you will need to declare the full price for customs is this is an issue go for insurance to £41, at least the print will be tracked then, but you wont be insured if damaged or lost - so you need the buyer to agree to this

posting a print to the US, by shower on Jul 5, 2010 21:03:27 GMT 1, I send some prints worth around £250 the other day. I just popped into the post office and they said the best bet was to post via 'Air Sure'. The tube was tracked all the way and was insured up to £500 I think. It cost me about £19 in total and seemed to be reasonably quick.
Hope that helps a little. Good luck sending the print.

posting a print to the US, by shower on Jul 5, 2010 22:09:41 GMT 1, Yeah Air Sure does not require a signature as the parcel or tube is tracked right up to the individuals front door. Apparently its the safest way possible.
But if a signature is required then dont use it.

posting a print to the US, by mmmike on Jul 6, 2010 13:10:23 GMT 1, At least for Canadian customs. The insured value is not related to the declared value. People often over insure items. It is not a problem if the insured value is more than the declared value.
