Jose Parla FRAMED, by mose on Jun 1, 2008 16:00:01 GMT 1, cool was unaware he did prints just thought it was watercolours and originals, does anyone know how many have been released and what one would expect to pay for such a beauty?
confirmed prints
Memory Documents - 16" x 23", 3 Color Letterpress, Edition of 25 from 2005
Pirate Alphabet 1 - 12" by 15", collograph and serigraphy, edition unknown(but low), 2006
Pirate Alphabet 2 - 12" by 15", collograph and serigraphy, edition unknown(but low), 2006
Pirate Alphabet 3 - 12" by 15", serigraphy, edition of 20(confirmed), 2006
Pirate Alphabet 4 - 15" by 12", serigraphy, edition unknown(but low), 2006
There were also at least 2(I believe) 'art posters' done under the Ease name. Not editioned, not signed, sold through standard retail outlets.
In addition, there have been at least 2 editions of ceramics, 4 different book 'states'(Cityscapes 1st edition, Cityscapes 2nd edition, Memory Documents unsigned, Memory Documents Signed), editioned photographs, 6-piece Cityscapes promotional postcard set, Pirate utopias promotional pins, Stussy T-Shirt, Cityscapes T-Shirt, Staple design t-shirt, the Ease Originals clothing line offshoot of BAL, and June 13th Parla + Romanelli collaboration clothing/art.
Probably a lot more I am missing, but that's the stuff i've seen.

Jose Parla FRAMED, by spirit on Apr 1, 2010 12:00:31 GMT 1, I like the trinity framing that I have seen but just not sure about white frames on these Parla's - think darker frames work better. These pics are from someone's sales thread (can't remember who now sorry) but thought they should be posted here as they are the best example of WTL framing I have seen. (If they are your pics, let me know and I will be happy to credit/remove them as you wish.)

Didn't want to try and pull any colors out on this one (they speak for themselves) so I played around with the depth of the piece. It's a deep frame with 3/4 spacers under 12ply mat, with museum glass.

This looks fab and has now sealed approval from the wife for me to get one for the bare wall in one of our rooms ;D
Love WTL and they look fantastic with the dark wood (the trinity framing looks ace ) and having now seen it - against bare brick!. Can anyone help me as to how big are these are framed??
Thanks

Jose Parla FRAMED, by David Soukup on Jun 3, 2012 17:13:16 GMT 1, Thanks for the kind words. We love it, and love our apartment too. I get lucky, as my wife loves collecting as much as I do (I hear some of you have to pick and choose which pieces to show you S.O), and she's got pretty good taste too.
The frame I have is about 44x44 inches. That's pretty much to the edge of the piece with no matte (we wanted to see the Elms Painting Rooms chop in the corner). We went with painted black wood, about 3/4" thick and 1 1/4" deep. I debated between a thicker frame (as I've seen others do), but chose thin, as the piece does more than enough to stand out without an overly complicated frame. I also hate using mattes, so we went with 1/2 spacers to give it that floated look without actually having to mount it to foam board.
Side note, and I only know this from years of working in the film industry. Forget the wallpaper, you can actually buy something called brick veneers from just about any stone/masonry place and it's all online too. They are panels of bricks that are like 1/2" thick only, so you can build a fake brick wall and then apply your own cement in between to make a faux brick wall. We use them everytime we make exposed brick interiors on movie sets... just for you to know.
