Framing Suggestions For Work On Wood, by Cardiff on Jul 11, 2010 17:14:15 GMT 1, I need some help w/ideas on framing the following MB piece...I don't have anything else on wood, and am a little clueless as to how to frame this up. Most of the art in my house has simple black box frames w/white matting. If anyone has any ideas or pics, I would greatly appreciate it (the sides of the wood are not finished). Thanks

Framing Suggestions For Work On Wood, by Cardiff on Jul 11, 2010 18:23:27 GMT 1, Walshy,
Thanks...that was my initial thought, but do I need to think about UV glass to protect from fading (even though it will not be in direct sunlight, our house is very bright)?
Many thanks for any additional ideas!

Framing Suggestions For Work On Wood, by jakek on Mar 29, 2011 18:16:02 GMT 1, that old frame works really well with that piece. i had this piece that came with an old frame from hera...
Hera Cyclops Word To Mother by jeyku, on Flickr
(it's actually back to front but that's the way she had it in the show)
I'd love a few more old frames for some prints and photos but everywhere i've seen them they seem to be wanting crazy prices.

Looks great wiz
I usually add a bead of silicon sealant between the Og and the frame, to ensure it doesnt fall out, however nailing it to the frame should be ok

I guess you won't be letting that go anywhere soon. Always liked it!

Framing Suggestions For Work On Wood, by Dellboyy on Mar 29, 2011 22:16:49 GMT 1, You could always just hang the wooden piece straight onto your wall using mirror brackets:
I've got a couple up like that in my spare room, i quite like the frameless look sometimes.

Missed it more or less as soon as i sold it Ruggs, was quite glad to be offered it back when the buyer was having difficulties, i originally got it from Levine show as you no doubt know, i like it as it kind of fits in with the more traditional stuff here as well.

I had a herakut on blockboard, it was framed pretty well, but must have cost around £500 which is plenty bucks for framing
see here
or the ultimate this aint gonna fall off the wall hang is to just screw the fucker to the wall ala this one.

Framing Suggestions For Work On Wood, by Cardiff on Apr 2, 2011 5:51:16 GMT 1, Thanks for all the framing suggestions/PMs that I keep getting, but it's a bit of a mute point as this one has been framed for quite a while. That said, I'm a little bummed that I didn't consider just "nailing this into an old frame" or "screwing this f**ker to the wall"....
PS-That Herakut and Jago are both amazing!
