Doze Green ๐บ๐ธ Print Release โข Show News โข Art For Sale, by thesewalls on Jun 13, 2008 7:02:37 GMT 1, DOZE GREEN has been doing it for YEARS. a TRUE LEGEND!!(sorry about the caps he's one of my favorites). if you dig his work and want it on the wall he has some nice posters for 5-10 quid. also, the print on his website isn't actually available, they need to update that sh*t.
Doze and Neate - great juxtaposition. Was reminded of Doze when looking at those pics (especially the second one) manchestermike posted of new Neate street art, from whats believed to be Brasil.
It's funny what makes it across the pond, going both ways of course. Doze is one of those dudes that for whatever reason (exposure on and off the street most likely) isn't big in the UK (comparatively speaking), but is a serious legend here. please note, i can only follow the scene over there via the internet, so PLEASE, correct me if i'm wrong, but Doze goes relatively unmentioned, no?

That's what I love about this place. The exposure to more art all the time. It's been (and will I hope remain) key in my development of taste for art across the board, not only street art, all be it indirectly as often as directly.

Nice video (and it led to some other nice little finds), but I could not disagree more with your statement. I think Neate has received some form of devine gift! He produces some breathtaking results, which even at 1st glance trancend genre. While my knowledge of Green is very limited and I'm impressed by what I've seen, NOONE makes Neate look like an amateur imho.

It was said in a non disrespectful way. I'm one of Neate's biggest fans and have been since the very early days.
It was said kind of tongue in cheek, but I bet you any money, if you asked Adam what he thought of Doze, he would say that he is someone that he looks up to and admires.
And i was referring to the painting which was done specifically in that video. IE a drawing done in a single line without stopping. Adam done likewise with the Vases at the PPP show.
Doze is a Legend...Adam is a Legend in the making.

Had my 6 year old daughter with me, who had a brief chat with Doze - and aside from his art he was fantastic with her, lovely guy and happy to take the time to talk to both of us.
Should she ever be into Hip Hop / Graf she will thank me in time (I hope!)

A New York City native, and often compared to Basquiat, his urban background and involvement in the early hip-hop/graffiti movement of NYC in the late 70โs, early 80โs as one of the original members of the Rock Steady Crew, led him to transition from creating art in the streets and subways into the gallery setting. The artistโs genealogy inspires many of the themes explored therein, influenced by ancient civilizations and indigenous cultures, including his own Afro-Caribbean roots.
