Rooney doesn't deserve the shirt - it's apparent that he' s been told not to get injured. It's about time these prima donnas who trouser ยฃ100K+pw actually turn up.

World Cup 2010 - South Africa, by Deleted on Jun 19, 2010 0:37:39 GMT 1, come on, calm down calm down - that team is so disjointed its unbelievable. You never ever play Lampard and Gerrard in the same team, they don't work well together. There was no creative input from the middle of the park - i felt sorry for Rooney, he had little or no service, and to watch him come all the way back to the edge of his own penalty box to get the ball - thats testiment to the style and manner in which England play. If you want to blame anyone, blame Capello, he choose this team, he plays them in a 4 4 2 formation and he was the one who omitted Walcott and Bent and put in donkeys like Heskey. He should have played Joe Cole in the middle next to Gerrard so that England had a creative midfielder.
Time people woke up and realised, England arent really that good

World Cup 2010 - South Africa, by Warm Gun on Jun 19, 2010 8:59:28 GMT 1, Judging by our last two performances we will not beat Slovenia and we will not go through.
We are shite.
We can't keep on blaming the bloody managers either, Errickson, McClaren and now Capello have all had the same problem to deal with. This generation of players are not as good as we think they are. Rooney is half the player we thought he was.
The sooner Ferdinand, Lampard, Gerrard et al retire, the better.

World Cup 2010 - South Africa, by Deleted on Jun 19, 2010 9:44:02 GMT 1, Where's the leadership on the pitch? - Capello can only do so much although what's the point of putting SWP on in effectively a like for like substitute when Lennon was actually not having a bad game (relatively to others) and giving Crouch 4 minutes to make an impression?
Defoe and Crouch should've been on with 25 minutes to go.
There was no creativity in midfield and Heskey's a donkey. In the cold, sober light of day, utter shite.

World Cup 2010 - South Africa, by Ruggs on Jun 19, 2010 11:50:40 GMT 1, Capello is no different to any other previous England manager. He picks players on there reputations and not on form. Picks injured players, plays players out of there best positions, keep relying on the trusty 4-4-2 and leaves proper goalscorers either on the bench (Peter Crouch) or at home (Darren Bent). Oh! and why did he take Joe Cole if he's not going to play him. To these guys who bank ยฃ100k a week 'club' football is king. Trust me! You'd get more energy, enthusiasm and determination playing eleven English Championship players.

World Cup 2010 - South Africa, by Simococo on Jun 19, 2010 14:30:16 GMT 1, England will definitely see of Slovenia. Argentina look good going forward but are far from world class at the back and then it a bit of a mixed bag from Holland, Brazil, Germany and Spain. No team has really excelled yet so we need to keep the faith

World Cup 2010 - South Africa, by Warm Gun on Jun 20, 2010 21:12:26 GMT 1, 4 - 0 to England We are just warming up 5 points from the group games and only one goal conceded is a solid start so we couldn't score against Japan, we only managed one against the USA, didn't score against Algeria (who had lost the last 6 games in a row, one of those against a country I've never even heard off) but all of a sudden we're going to score 4 against the strongest team in our group?
Seriously mate, I really wish you were right but I feel you're way off in your prediction. The Algeria game was the worst I've seen us play for 20 years. I can't see a complete turn around in a few days.
Todays papers paint an image of an England camp in utter turmoil. It sounds as if the players and the manager have fallen out big time. They want the system changed, Cappelo doesn't and it's his way or no way....yadda yadda yadda.
It all adds up to us getting another 0-0 draw and going out in utter disgrace.
That'll be good for me, it means I won't have to watch that crap anymore.

World Cup 2010 - South Africa, by schlomo on Jun 21, 2010 13:12:03 GMT 1, Blimey. 2 games, 2 points, qualification in our hands. Whats the problem?
Yes we've been poor, but then its been a shoddy world cup so far, i've watched almost every game and havent seen one convincing performance. Maybe Germany, and Brazil and Argentina look good, but then they always do! Remember '66? we didnt start very well then either.
have faith, drop lampard, bring on joe cole.
3 nil to us, you wait.
have faith.

My thoughts exactly! We don't half know how to rip apart the national side in this country, and while we're actually still in it! Fair enough we've been awful, but at least wait until we actually get knocked out before sacking Capello!
